Don't use refill cartridges, because it will damage your printer someday. and will cost your parts as brand new. so better use the original ink.
TRY THIS STEPS...
Mp150 Reset Counter
Service mode operation procedures -
1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding
the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power LED is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a
service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the LED lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the
function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in
orange and green, starting with orange.)

0 time Green Power off
1 time Orange Service pattern print
2 times Green EEPROM print
3 times Orange EEPROM reset
4 times Green Waste ink counter reset See waste ink counter reset
5 times Orange Destination setting See Destination setting

12 or more times Returns to a menu selection

Use a Q-Tip and some clean water to clean the contacts behind the cartridge in the printer and on the cartridge itself. Then use a pencil with a clean eraser to polish the contacts. Be careful not to touch the part where the ink comes out of the cartridge.
Also, are you using Canon ink or third party?

i sure u buy wrong cartridge for your MP450...if u want higher quality, u should buy CL-51 cartridge for colour and CL-50 for black..
fyi, CL-52 can only suitable for IP6210D / IP6220D printer. u can see yourself at this link :

do a temporary reset. u can found it how to do it.
temporary reset is a procedure before doing a permanen reset (usualy with resetter software)
temporary reset is bypass ur cartridge recognition
here it is :
1. turn off ur printer
2. pull off all cable that connect to printer (2 cable, usb and power cable)
3. press and hold the power button, then insert the power cable (still hold the power button)
4. while u still hold the power button, press the resume buton twice. the release them both.
5. because its a temporary reset. u must do it again if u lost electricity power.

With the original chip now
attached to the compatible cartridge (you may need double sided tape to
get the chip to stick well to the cartridge), and with the cartridge
now in the printer, Press and hold the Reset/OK Button for 5 seconds to
reset the chips.
