Codes typically require that the dryer duct be no more than 25 feet long. It should be 2.5 feet shorter than 25 feet for every 45-degree bend and 5 feet shorter for every 90-degree bend. If the duct is more than 25 feet in length, the system requires a booster fan or a high-output dryer. Ducts should be smooth metal with a minimum diameter of 4". Flexible ducts shouldn't be used, since they collect more lint and can easily be crushed, impeding airflow and potentially starting lint fires. The ducts shouldn't have screws or connectors, which could collect lint, blocking the flow of combustion gases. Backdrafting can occur if the ducts are blocked, sending harmful carbon monoxide back into the home.

We had the same problem and we had cleaned the vent but the problem was the vent was packed from inside the wall up to the
roof. Our dryer is not vented through the wall and oustside it is vented through the wall and up to the roof our was cloged up to
the screen in the roof. We used fridge brush with hard brissles a
ajustable handle dust mop that gave us the length we needed and
a wet dry vac you would not believe how much lint was packed into
the vent pipe if you need more info email me.

Have a Ge Heavy duty super capacity electric dryer, can't find model number, It's not heating well

Make sure the vent pipe is clean and with the dryer cool, clean out as much as you can from the inside the vent port. There are at least two relays on the inside of the cabinet that may have gone bad also.

Will not dry

Hi, I experienced the same problem with my Maytag electric dryer. The problem was finally resolved after I found a mouse had built a nest in the actual vent pipe (which allows air to discharge to the outside of your home). Once I removed this mouse next, my electric dryer worked perfectly. In the winter time, mice love nice warm places and a dryer's vent pipe is very attractive. Just a thought. Good Luck!

DRYER DOESNOT BLOW AIR OUT BACK of dryer checked screen nothing

Check the entire rear vent pipe. It could be blocked with lint build-up, or a small critter could have gotten in and died.

GE Profile electric dryer continues to stop and say check lint filter, however lint filter is clean?

You should get one of of those long handled dryer vent brushes from Home Depot or Lowes and clean the vent pipe also. Not enough air is moving over the vent sensor.

Heat is on clothes are not drying

The air flow through the exhaust is blocked/clogged.

This usually happens at the vent where it exits the house, but can also be where the dryer connects to the vent in the floor/wall, and also occurs throughout the entire pipe length.

Make sure the inlet, pipe, and outlet are cleared. make sure the lint filter and surrounding area is clear.

You should hjave a good strong air flow comming out of the vent on the exterior.

(Improper airflow prevents the moisture from exiting the dryer.)
