Question about Ricoh FT3713 Copier

How do i reset it. The toner cannot get to the developer until I manually filed in toner to the developer.

Looke my friend this problem assume many causes first step 1- check that motor bottle is rolling 2- check that housing toner is not blockage on it 3- check that this tank belong to machine it's not from another model 4- check that TD sensor is feel with toner obviously

When I make copies from my kyocera cs 4035 the copies are very light or transparent could this be the drum?


It could be developer and it could be toner, first try to shaking the toner or put new toner, if it does not help, try refresh the developer. if you increase the density and it comes ok! this means is not the drum unit.
How to refresh the developer:on the panel: hit 1087 1087, this will take you to the service mode.press on the panel 130 and press the Start Button.select dv refresh from the screen,then hit Start again, the screen numbers start change, it will take about 5 minute or more until it finish.
To exit the service mode, hit reset two times,until you see the screen has zero numbers, and then hit one then start button.
This should takecare of your problem,

Installed new toner cartridge but toner fault will not reset


Hello,
if the copier was long time without toner, you need to open and close the front cover few times until it stops blinking.
If these doesn't helps, you need to vacuum and clean the toner handle mechanism, because there are toner leftovers that obstructs the new toner pass to developing assy.

Were does the developer go. Inside the Developer MOdule? in a certain place? Or does it get put into the toner container?


The developer is not a toner. It goes in the developer unit, it is installed by a service rep. You need to empty out the used developer & install the new bag of developer & rest the counter & set the developer up to add toner when needed. To make a long story on developer short > it is made up of iron filings & it holds the toner on the developer make roller to make a even coat of toner on your paper... Good Luck..... Just to let you know your copier is a Ricoh and it is a dul component copier

What is the difference between the toner and developer on this printer? The manuals we have don't give any info on installing developer, but you can purchase both toner and developer for this...


Toner provides the color, Developer consists of magnetic particles that carry the color on the outside of the developer drum, which is magnetic. Some developer is lost on each copy, although most stays in the developer unit. When you run low on developer, your image gets lighter and lighter, until the machine reports an error because it can no longer self calibrate. One change of developer suffices for many changes of toner. There is a procedure involving various actions and codes to flush the developer material out and load new developer in. This is not difficult, but there are a couple of reasons you might not want to do it if you are unsure why or if you should. First, developer for these estudio copiers, is very expensive. Second, unless you know how many copies have been made on the existing developer, you might change the developer, and fail to correct the problem. There are related service items, involving the cleaning blades, and seals, servicing charging grids, corona wire, and general cleaning of the 4 developer units and opc drums. Including dusting with zinc sterate, etc., etc. Its hard to know where to begin or where to stop. If you really want to know all about it, order a manual from any of a variety of on-line sources. This an error for out of toner. Make sure there is toner in the hopper. Do this by pushing down the hooked shaped clips on top of the hopper and at the same time move the slide to the right. Using a flashlight look into the hopper see if there is toner. There was also a mod kit for cleaning the toner sensor that should have been done. Return the slide back to normal position. Add toner if needed. If there is toner you will have to remove the developer unit , access from the bypass door. Unscrew the top of the developer unit, look to make sure that there is toner inside. Return to proper position when through. You will also have to reset the error after toner checks ( service mode ). Do this by inserting a straightend paper clip into hole located below control panel on left side. You should see a $ on control panel. Press * 4 *. Look for " ERROR ". Use arrows on screen to move through the different screens. Touch screen on error to highlight. Press OK. Turn off and back on main power switch ( lower right side ). To refill developer unit if needed is to go into service mode and *4* and look for INSTALL. Look for TONER-S. highlight and press OK. Copier will run and time down until developer is filled correctly. Reset key serveral times and copier should be OK. Run several 20 copy sets to test that toner will hold.

We have been sent a toner cartridge for our ir3300 but despite directions on the side of the box it does not appear to fit


Canon toner type GPR-6, correct? Open the front cover. Rotate lever to release toner/developer unit. Pull the unit straight out until it stops. Insert new cartridge to line up with top of toner/developer unit at a slight angle (lower at back) Once the cartridge stops at the rear (I would hold the toner/developer unit with one hand while inserting the cartridge) then lower the front end of toner cartridge down on top of the unit.....press down until toner cart. clicks into place. You will know because a tab pops out the front with clear plastic attatched. Pull the tab to release toner and release top of toner/dev. unit. Keep pulling until it stops. Wait about 7 seconds, now tap on toner cartridge to release all loose toner (don't forget to shake toner before opening) After about 15 seconds, toner should be fully loaded. Now push top cover of toner/developer unit back in until it latches, you will know because the empty cartridge releases from the unit. Now remove empty cartridge, reinsert unit, turn latch handle and close front cover.

The toner light stays on not allowing me to print, but the toner cartridge is new.


Sometimes if a printer runs completely out of toner and the cartridge is replaced it takes a while to get enough toner mixed back into the developer unit so the printer will print again. Some printers have a key sequence to put the printer into a mode that automatically adds toner to the developer but if you don't know the key sequence(Check your operators manual or download a manual from www.brother-usa.com) sometimes this problem can be solved by simply turning the printer off and on until enough toner gets added back into the developer unit.

To specify which supply has been replaced:
  1. Make sure the printer is on and the Ready message is displayed.
  2. Press and release Menu until you see Supplies Menu, and then press Select.
  3. Press and release Menu until you see Replace Supplies, and then press Select.
  4. Press and release Menu until you see the relevant item:
      • Yellow Toner
      • Magenta Toner
      • Cyan Toner
      • Black Toner
      • Photodev Cart
      • Fuser
  5. Make sure the item you replaced is on the second line of the operator panel. Press Select.
  6. Press and release Menu until you see Replaced, and then press Select. The Saved message appears.
  7. Press and release Return until the printer returns to the Ready state.
