You may need to change the size of the o valve,if your going with 4 ton outside and 5 ton inside.
There is a restriction somwhere,Not allowing full flow of freon back to compressor.

they are both inside and outside 5ton it had a 4 ton outside does that mean that the o vale may be a 4 ton and I need to change to a 5 ton o vale

5 ton inside, possible you may also need a hard start capcitor kit for the compressor to handle the additional load

What is the problem when an air conditioner begins to freeze up?

Freezing up is caused by
•dirty air filter or evaporator coil(indoor coil)
•dirty blower wheel or blower fan blades
•low freon
•weak or slow blower motor
If air filter and indoor coil are clean may be low on freon. Blower wheels seldom get dirty on window units. Pull unit from window and clean both coils with a water hose. Careful not to get any electrical wet. Let dry for a while and reinstall. If it continues to freeze its a freon problem most the time.

My exist. unit is a very old sears coldspot through the wall mounted in a 12x18 in.exact sleeve. Can i remove unit and replace with FRA052XT7 ?. Exist sleve is vented on both sides & back. This is...

Get rid of the old stuff, too big to be used
Newer unit can't be inside the old sleeve as you call it

Just install the new unit how you see fit, to seal
it up

5000BTU is too small

A 7,200,8,000 or 10,000 BTU is the same size & about
the same price.

Have 5000BTU Goldstar window unit. Water dripping

the bottom of the case from the outside usually has a "divot" in it below the coil to allow flow from the hose that runs across the bottom of the unit, try pressuring up and "blowing out" any obstruction, if this does not work then you may have to disassemble the unit and verify the drainpan is not cracked below the indoor coil (rare)
