The reality is that it will depend on how strong your local TV signal is.
Digital TV requires a decent signal using a WIDEBAND AERIAL
By definition, a portable TV will require a portable wideband aerial and often these will not work very well in areas where the TV signal is medium > weak.
The best option is to buy a portable wideband aerial from a retailer who will refund your money if it fails to work for you.
