Hi.

If the charging led turns on, then the problem is unlikely the charger. The charger can be tested using a volt meter to ensure that voltage is near to specification (DC power adapter voltage toleration is within half Volt from specs).I am sure that the charger is OK.

The problem is either battery, or an internal problem such as a short that is rapidly discharging battery because of the excessive power draw. The battery is the most common fault causing the problem.

Test the camera using a different battery, if that does not fix the problem, then there is an internal fault. In that case the camera must be disassembled and tested.

Here the battery, there are different batteries for A and Go camcorder models:

$9.95 Aiptek A

$9.95 Aiptek GO

If the problem is not the battery, here a repair service that offers online quote: Repair.

Regards.

Ginko.

Hi,

Change the batteries go with rechargeable, high-capacity NiMH batteries for regular shooting, but in case of an emergency you always carry a spare set of hybrid NiMH or disposable lithium batteries with you, in case the rechargeable poop out in the middle of a shooting session. For other batteries the life is short in camera.Follow the tips to increase the battery life:
Do not use continuous focus when not necessary.
Minimize photo previewing.
Turn off LCD, when not in use.

Clean the metal contacts of the battery holder properly with dry cloth and then insert the new battery and check you are getting power to the camera.
If you still face the problem, then inner conductivity is lost between battery terminals and circuit board. You need to take to service center to get it repaired.

Hope this helps.

Shane

New bright 12.8v charger the red light won't come on at all don't know if the battery is charging.

Try with other battery since a bogus battery often will not charge, hence no light.

Charger only has a red light when do I know battery is fully charged??

depending on the model of drill, the indicator (if not colour / state changing) only indicates that the drill is connected to power.

hence with no indicator of a full charge, if you refer to the user manual for this drill it should tell you how long the drill should be charged for.

Camera wont charge. green light comes on for a second then a red light flashes and then goes out

This normally indicates a battery problem. Remove the battery and wipe the contacts (battery and camera) firmly with a dry cloth to remove any corrosion that may have built up on them. Heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper. After cleaning, remove any debris that may have fallen into the battery compartment, then insert the battery and connect the camera to the charger. If the green light stays on, the problem is gone and you can charge the battery for several hours and then use the camera. If the red light comes on, it's likely time to replace the battery - especially if it's more than a year old.

HINT: Always remove the battery if you don't plan to use the camera for a week or more. This will prevent corrosion buildup and extend both battery life and camera life.

Camera will not come on. Previously, I have not used the camera for two years. I took it out and charged several batteries. It shows that they are fully charged. But, the camera would not come on...

Try to use it firstly with AC adaptor(VSK0617) to understand that if it is working. The original battery pack (CGA-S302A) irreversibly loses approximately 20% capacity per year. So it is normal I think. Also, high charge levels and elevated temperatures (whether resulting from charging or being ambient) hasten permanent capacity loss for lithium-ion batteries. Think that shelf life+usage period+two years and other bad parameters decreases its life near 0.
As I said before,
Try to use the camera with its AC adaptor then change the batteries with new ones.
Hope that it will work.
This is the link of camera manual. May be you need to read the page 12.

Camera is 3 years old. Lately I take a picture

All the battery have a life time fixed working hours. Your battery is charged but he complete is working time. Thats why these msg will come. Dont warry use the battery when you see the power going down after a while of charging then change the battery and buy new 1. Good luck.
Thanks, i am waiting for your feed back & if you satisfied then thumps me please.

When I put my battery in the charger is flashes red.

Hi Olivia. Thanks for your reply.

When the charger flashes red, it means that either:
A) you battery terminals are dirty, or, it's not put in the charger properly.
B) You have a bad battery.
I'm going to assume that you're putting it in the charger correctly because you have had it a long time and know how to properly insert it. The battery terminals being dirty are highly unlikely.

So this is my opinion:
The fact that your battery is a year and half old tells me right away that your battery is a gonner. Your charger flashing red tells me that it can no longer flow current to the battery. I'm sorry, but you need to purchase a new battery. Good news is that they aren't too expensive, approximately $20 usd, and you can find one on the web very easily.

Make sure you get the right battery. Whichever one you buy, make sure it fits your camera. I do know that it's a 3.7 volt np-20 battery. You want to purchase one with a high mAh number. The mAh number relates to how long it will run your camera between chargings. The higher the number, the longer it should run your camera.
Also, note, in the future, don't charge your battery for longer than 2 hours at a time. It should only take 90 minutes to fully charge it. If you charge it longer than that, it will get too hot and dramatically shorten the life of your battery!

Sorry I didn't have good news, but I wanted to make sure you were properly armed with knowledge.

Thanks for coming to FixYa. Come back if you have any other questions, and remember to rate my solution a fixya.

How can I know if the battery is still good?

How many times have you charged the battery?
Did you give it a full charge when you first bought it?
I think the battery has probably come to the end of it`s life

Camera won't charge

Hi!

It's a problem with the battery. It already reached it's life cycle. I had the same problem with my 15 month old casio camera a year ago - flashing red light on docking station. I even tried borrowing a docking station/charger to see if something else is wrong with it.

The only solution for this is to have the battery replace.

I hope that helps.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Battery failure

The only solution for that is to buy a new battery. I had the same problem with my canon 900Ti (NB5 battery), died after less than a year. It probably exceeded it's battery cycle life... have a nice day!
