Question about Vacuums

Open Question

Dear Sirs, I purchased two Braun 5875 Contour Electric Shavers in May 2009. I didn't start using one of these new shavers until August 2010. In January of this year I found that the contour part of my razor started to flex on one side and the spring clip that retained the foil became loose. I didn't get very good shaves from this Braun razor and put it down to the pattern change of the foil itself. I have always used Braun shavers because I was of the opinion that German made articles were always superior to other makes. It's the same with my car as I am on my sixth VW although even they do not seem to last like previouse ones. Back to my 5875 Razor. I continued to use this razor even though the head was flexing on one side; and then suddenly there was a bang and sparks flew out of the side of the two pin plug and it would have caught fire if I hadn't quickly removed the plug from the electric supply. On inspection I found that there was a hole through the side of this twin plug. I note that this plug is made in China but my blue coloured 5875 shaver is made in Germany. This electrical fault in the plug blew out the charger unit in the razor thus making it so that I was unable to use it.As I stated at the start of this E-mail I purchased two of these shavers so I would carry a spare for the future as I have had three previous 5775 Braun Shavers over the years. I am reluctant to use the second new 5875 Shaver as I'm worried it will go the same way. I have noticed that even my previous 5775 Shaver the contour head has become loose on one side and the small retaining spring has come away from it's cavity where a small phillips screw holds it in place. Please can you help me solve this delemma and advise me how to proceed.

SOURCE: Philips Norelco Arcitec electric shaver:

This is a travel lock feature. The lock is activated by pressing the on/off button and holding it for 3 seconds. This will lock the razor in case it is turned on during travel.

SOURCE: I regret to report that

Try take it back to the dealer, they may have a record of the sale - and tell your wife to hide warranty papers in future, until the warranty has lapsed at least.

How do you take apart the Braun 4700 series shaver. I need to replace the battery, so i need to access the inards. Thanks

In the back of the shaver are two screws, one on each side of the plug pins. You need a tiny flat-head screwdriver. Take these screws out and the entire outer shell of the shaver pulls out from just behind the head.. Now your next challenge is trying to find replacement batteries with the little tip on each end.

My Braun tootbrush has never charges-i have a 240 & 11v shaver socket but nothing seems to happen when i plug it in?

When charging a device on some type of charging block you need to plug it into a regular 110 socket as the block has the correct modifications in it for the device that it charges. This 11volt shaver socket is for older shavers that dont charge up you just plug them in and use them.I hope this helps you ....good luck
