Question about Amperite Dayton Solid State Timer On Delay Time Relay

I am looking for a multi function relay similar to the Dayton (1)6A855 but with a 240vac input not 120vac input. Can you assist please. Regards Bruce Peters

8) Not wanting to say what already know, but each 240V circuit is made from two out-of-phase 120V lines. Any 240Volt Load can be turned OFF by turning off one of the 120V lines. In this way, the Dayton 120V timer can be used to control 240V load.
Also the 120V Dayton can operate 120V double-pole contactor, and then the contactor controls 240V Load.

Interior lights and door locks not working


The central element here is not a relay but the multi-function alarm lock & lighting (MALL) module. You indicate the 20A fuse in the relay center is OK. The MALL also receives BAT power through 15A CTSY/PWR MIR FUSE 6A and IGN input through 15A IGN CHIME/CLSTR FUSE 10 in the I/P fuse block. Voltage from 20A SIG/BU/LP BTIS/CCR FUSE 18 in the I/P fuse block passes through the park/neutral position switch in PARK position to supply PARK POSITION INPUT to the MALL. All of these inputs are required for the MALL to function correctly.

I need to know what to set my dials/sttings on 1EJE8 Dayton Timer. What I am trying to do is sound an alarm when I hit reset the timer shuts off the alarm for twenty min before resounding


Question is unclear.
Help me break it down.
You want to push a button and sound alarm?
And then you want alarm to sound until you push button again?
And then you want timer to delay 20 minutes before sounding alarm again for an unknown amount of time?
What is the reset?
Add a comment and say what control you have wired to the timer and a clear 1-2-3 sequence of events and times for possible help.
1EJE8 is 10-function timer, and no manual appears on the internet July2011.
Magnecraft has same-similar timer, the 820 series.

To palaboy: when you talk about a switch on the left most terminals, you mean with this switch im enable the timer???


Question is not clear.

You posted about Dayton on-delay timer?
This timer has two contacts, and wires similar to a light switch.
Connect 120V power to terminal 1
Connect wire going to load to terminal 3
Maximum Load is 1 amp so this timer should be wire to a contactor/relay and not directly to Load.

Both headlights quit working simotaneously


There are just (3) possible reasons for this:
(a) your headlight switch has failed, or
(b) your headlight relay has failed.
(c) Fuse 1 (25 Amps) has blown

The headlight relay and fuse 1 are located (I think) in a fuse/relay block under the hood.
The headlight switch is part of the "Multi-function Switch" on the steering column.

Here's how to replace the 2001 PT Cruiser multi-function switch:

Multi-Function Switch Removal & Installation
1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
3. Remove both upper and lower steering column shrouds.
4. Disconnect both posi-lock harness connectors at the rear of the multi-function switch.
5. Remove multi-function switch mounting screws and remove switch from vehicle.




To Install the new multi-function switch:

Note:
If replacing the multi-function switch, the combination flasher and windshield wiper/washer switch
must be transferred to the new multi-function switch.

1. Remove the two Torx(R) screws retaining the wiper/washer switch, place next to the new
multi-function switch and install two screws.
2. Place switch into place and install mounting screws. Torque multi-function switch to column
retaining screws to 27 inch-lbs. (3 Nm).
3. Connect both posi-lock harness connectors at the rear of the multi-function switch.
4. Install both upper and lower steering column shrouds.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
6. Close hood.
7. Verify vehicle and system operation.

Hi Sandra,

I assume you have no LED’s lit when you raise and lower the washer lid or press a Wash Cycle or Spin Only cycle. This may not be an easy fix but this how I would proceed to troubleshoot.

From the machine schematic I see no fuses or circuit breakers in the machine that could cause loss of 120VAC distribution to the washer Control Board or other relay inputs. This is what I can tell from washer schematic. 120VAC comes into the machine passes thru and EMI filter is then distributed to the Control Board for +12VDC and +3.3VDC generation and 120VAC distribution to the main system relay, motor control board, drain pump, door locks/unlock solenoid and so on. I would start looking with my DVM to see if I had 120VAC at connector P6-1 the L1 (120VAC) input to the control board referenced to P6-3 or 4 the 120VAC neutral connection. If you have 120VAC at those points I would look to see if I had +12VDC power generated by the control board +12VDC power supply.

+12VDC could be measured at the Control Board Conn P3 Pin 3 or 4 referenced to Control Board common Conn P3 Pin 1. If there was no +12VDC generated by the Control Board I would replace the control Board and see if that restores normal operation. What I’m describing is the troubleshooting path I would take as an electronics technician. If you call in a repair service run my suggestion by them and see what they would suggest. I would make sure they bring out a Control Board for your machine. The Control Board has a 5 yr warranty. They will need your model number which you have and the serial number of your machine. The s/n is located on the back right side of the console. I will attach a couple links for reference. The Service Manual link has Maytag warranty contact info.

Let’s also see if another forum member can offer a solution to this issue that I may be overlooking.

Dayton 3EV51 torpedo heater


Dayton heaters at one time were manufactured by DESA or a predecessor and labeled DAYTON for Grainger. I have been unable to find any specific reference material to "Dayton 3EV51".

There were 2 types of motors used. I suspect your heater has a starter relay. The solid state relay was used to allow the energizing of the start winding which would allow the motor to achieve approx 80% of rated speed, then the relay would de-energize the start winding to prevent overheating. The relay is not attached to the motor, except for the wiring.

5ef4624.jpgThis is what the starter relay looks like. If yours has one check to see if it is energizing the starter windings at start-up. If not it is probably defective. The part is still available at www.reddyparts.com, I think, but today's replacement part looks slightly different.

If your motor does not have the relay, then the motor has an internal start-up system which is not serviceable, but the motor is probably still available. Most of the time the motor's part number is printed on the label.
