Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have just taken out the car battery to recharge. When I put the battery back in, the car radio should flash 'code' however for some reason it just displays the word code but does not flash, which in turn does not allow for me to enter in the required pin code??? As a result it wont unlock....what can I do? 1) I have already tried to leave the ignition to 'on' and waited for about an hour and a half...no change 2) I have disconnected battery terminal several times...no change 3) I have taken out fuse and put back in ...no change. Can you please suggest something...Holden (where I bought the car) say they dont know!!!

The flashing may not apply to your model. Car and audio manufacturers right one manual for the full range and don't rewrite for minor modifications. Read the manual and follow the instructions, just ignore the reference to "Flashing". Hope this helps.I had a similar problem with the factory fitted unit in my Granada.

you may need to have the cpu reset with a code reader as when you removed the battery the program was corrupted.

Radio stopped after the battery died and was recharged

The first thing to check is the fuse for the radio. More likely, though, is that the radio needs a security code to turn back on. A local dealership may be willing to give you this code if you go there with your title. There also websites that offer radio unlock codes. Does the radio display anything when you start the car or when you try to turn the radio on?

You will need to contact the dealer. Radio codes are only supplied thru the dealer or you can search online for places that sell the code.

Chances are you will need to pay for the code or replace the radio with one that is an upgrade with no code needed.

I have 2001 doge dakota and left ignition on and

Not sure but you may have a radio that needs a code input. the radio thinks it was taken out and a code needs to be put back in at the proper time. if you bought the truck new it should be in oners manual. if not you have to get it from a dealer. you may have to pay for it.

The radio/disc player won't work

In the owners manual booklet there should be a radio code that you have to punch in in order for the radio to work. This is in case your radio gets stolen no one else can use it. When you change the battery or the battery goes dead you have to put this code in for the radio to work again. The radio code may be on a card inside the leather case the owners manual comes in.. This is where mine was.
