SOURCE: how to replace seal on a jet ski

The seals in the drive pump can be replaced by taking off the ride plate and pump housing. To replace any other seals (engine or hull) you will have to remove the motor from the hull.

SOURCE: how to replace seal on a jet ski

If the seal is in the jet pump, get an impellor tool and replace all the seals and bearings in the jet pump. You will have to pull the engine to replace the crankcase seals or the rear hull seal.

What is the difference between a powerboat and a jet ski?

I have a wnerunner 650 that porporis.s whe running fast.Can this be fixed. bobj199@hotmail.com

More weight forward can help. Many times people have dropped the back of there boat on gravel, a log, a board , etc. and have warped or curved enough to change the way the boat planes. Many boats are designed with ride plates that are too short. On most jet ski's if you were to extend the ride plate 4" (four inches) you would get a nice stable ride. Of course getting on and off the boat in deep water could get a bit more painful. 4" is the magic number. Shorter extensions would also help if angled correctly (just a longer flat surface)

See doo wont start

It should start on land more easily than in the water (no drag on impeller). However, you should not run your boat for more than 10 or 15 seconds dry or you might damage the motor (too much heat build up). If you put a flush kit on your boat you can run it as long as you want in your drive way. We always start are boats on the trailer for a few seconds before launching. It makes the first in the water start a lot easier.
