Hi There and Welcome to Fixya,

Seems like you're having an LCD/LED backlight issue - here's what you got to try in order to determine if the problem is with the hardware side of your LCD screen :

  • Boot to the BIOS mode - first, make sure that the computer is turned OFF. Turn it back on and start pressing the 'DEL' key repeatedly (depending on the system's built, sometimes it's the 'F2' key).
  • A different screen (DOS like) will appear, stop pressing keys and observe if the problem persists in this mode.
  • If it is, then I am recommending to try an external monitor (from a desktop) and plug it in to transfer the display.
If the display is good from the external monitor, then it's 100% that we're having a backlight issue. Replacing/repairing a backlight requires a certified/trained technician that can deal with intricate laptop parts - so with this, you may contact Medion's support and check for repair options.

Here is the link to their website :

I certainly hope this helps, Thank you for using FixYa.

Try and find out what the manufacturer and model of the camera is and search the manufacturer's site or the internet for Windows 8 drivers. There is not much else you can do. The notebook was designed for Windows 7 and there are not very many Windows 8 hardware device drivers available.

Medion E7214 overheating

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

Can't turn on wireless

Have you checked whether your wireless access point/router is working. For example does your smartphone detect your wifi signal. If not turn off off your access point/router, wait 30 seconds and then switch back on.
Also in the bottom right of your toolbar you will be able to bring up an option to connect to the wi fi - did you set this to automatic?

It may be that the battery is no good any more for some reason or another and not taking a charge. You may want to check this and if you take it into a service center they should be able to test your battery and see if it needs replaced. I would check this first. If that is not the issue you may have a problem internally.

Laptop crashes shortly after boot, power light rapidly blinks red.

Its late, so just to make sure I'm not brain-dead basically your laptop runs fine as long as its powered by the AC adaptor but dies fairly quickly while running via battery. This is very typical of a battery that will no longer hold a charge, not normally a user repairable item. It could also be that the charging electronics (in the laptop) isn't charging the battery, again not a typical user repair job. About your only option short of taking it to the repair shop is buying or borrowing a battery as a test.
