Ge washer wjrr4170g agitating very hard and rough and out of balance but is level on the floor. What is possibly wrong?

Hello Trina;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

Go into Searspartsdirect.com. In put your model number. Ther will be a diagram showing your rod springs. I suspect you have a bad rod spring or it has come loose. The rod spring stabilizes the washer drum during agitation and spin cycle. These are relatively inexpensive parts approximately $16.00 each.

Lets repair this together. I have faith in you Trina. No man required.
Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off.
To replace this part you need to open the top cover. There are two retaining clips, one on the right and one on the left. If you look into where the top cover meets the front plate you will see these clips. With a putty knife or a spatula push on these clips to release the top cover. Raise the cover up.
Now, you need to remove the front cover. First disconnect the electrical connector to the door latch. Using a small screw driver wedge between the connector for release.
You will see screw on the inside at the top of the front cover. One on each side. They are either Phillips head screws of hex head screws. Remove these fasteners. Lift up on the front cover. There are tabs that go into slots. You may have to play with the position of tabs and slot to remove. You will now have access to the rod springs.
If the rod springs are loose tighten the threaded fasteners. If they are broken replace. You probably have only one broken. Keep running the dishwasher then you will have both broken.

Both springs on lid broken. Lid won't stay up.

Whatever is on the shelf (parts that have not sold yet) is your best bet. Someone in the USA has to have em cause it hasnt been that long out of business.

You gonna have to remove the front and look for a broken spring, If the springs are all there then the snubber pad probably needs replacing.

NEC nw 452 The spring on the lid cut-off lever has broken. I need to remove the lid. How do I do that?

You need to open the top. Unplug the machine and find a stiff putty knife or something flat and thin. Where the top meets the front of the machine, about 2" in from both sides, you will find a spot where you can push inward and release the spring catches. Lift the top and everything will be accessable.

Hoover HPB145 washing machine is dented above the door from the inside outwards. Is it possible a drum retaining/suspension spring has become detached?

if the spring is not on this is a problem due to the tub will bang around and will do more damaged which will end in the washer having to be replaced if the spring is broken then replace this item a.s.a.p peter
