Had some problem. Point a hairdryer at the top vent just below the control panel. There's a circuit board on top with a dodgy heat sensor. With the oven on get it hot enough and it will come back to life. Take out the oven and open the top and point the hair dryer right at it if the vent isn't working.

Richard. Same here . . and your strange fix worked for me to reset the oven to normal . . but only temporarily and the fault comes back after a while. Each time the warm air (at RH end of the board). Did you identify the component to to be replaced on the board for a permanent fix?

  • Richard Dec 16, 2011

For a while that fix worked for us, as long as the oven wasn't turned on... but then we started to wake up to the familiar click click click in the kitchen.... sorry we never did fix it we just got a new oven instead. I was told though by someone who worked at the company that the problem was with a thermal sensor on the board, so that might be a starting point. Good luck.

Comment about Sterling looks silly but I couldn't post until I found a valid product - and there wasn't a 707MF.

We have a GE electric stove with a JDP 39 oven element which has burned out. How do we get the bottom heating element out to replace it?

UNPLUG the stove or turn off its breaker.

Inside the oven, trace the element back to the rear wall. There should be one screw on each side next to where the element goes through the rear wall. Unscrew that screw on each side and pull the element toward you - it'll come easily, bring its wiring behind it (this is why there must be NO power to the stove!). Detach the wiring from the element... DO NOT allow the wires to pull back through the wall, or you'll have to pull the whole range out to retrieve them.

To install the new element, just reverse that procedure.

My frigidaire gallery series oven made a popping noise while heating up dinner in oven and now the whole oven is not working

Hello jnjpelli - Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart the unit. If the oven does not turned on, then more than likely there seems to be a power supply issue. Also try checking the breaker and the power connections located on the back of the range. If any of these suggestions prove to be ineffective, connect with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially more serious issues

Hi

F1 Error indicates a bad control board and the control board (electronic control) should be replaced to solve this issue. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The stove top works fine .Both of the ovens stopped working and there is no digital display where the clock is . Where is the fuse located for the ovens

Normally, there is a master switch on the wall near the oven. This is in turn is usually fed from its own fuse/breaker on the consumer unit. I suspect this has bblown.

there is ashut off valve coming out of your floor or wall shut that off the handle shoud be crossway if the valve is staight in line it is on, if you don,t have a shut off behind your stove it might be down stairs, or you might have to shut off the main when that is shut off loosen your line and move it out,[reminder], when you instsall the stove and hook the line back up and you turn your gas back on take some soapy water and check the lines for any leaks thank you.

I have the Stoves 720EF manual stored on the BT Digital Vault which might help. If you want a copy of it, supply an email address and I will give it access.
Also someone else has said that if you speak to Stoves nicely they may be able to send an electronic version of the manual instead of the paper copy.

Maytag double oven with ceramic stovetop. Tried to change the time on the stove. Now display has large and small red numbers displayed and cannot use the oven.

Unplug the machine for about 5 mins. If it's hard to reach the plug, you can turn off the breaker instead. You should be able to reset the clock normally after you turn the power back on.

No power to the oven, is breaker external or somewhere on the oven?

Go to your breaker box or fuze box and look for a dual circuit breaker It should be labeled stove. Turn the breaker off If a fuze box there usually is a black plastic fuze holder labeled stove pull it out. Confirm at the stove a lack of power.
