Hi,

In order to reset your computer to Factory default settings without the disc, you can follow the instructions below.

1. Turn on your computer. Once you see the DeLL Logo Press and Hold the CTRL button then while holding CTRL button, press F11
2. You should see the Dell PC Restore by Symantec application.
3. You can click Restore and Confirm the restoration.
4. It will take 10-15 minutes. Once your computer rebooted, it should already be in the default settings

This solution only works if the pc restore partition in your Dell note book is still intact.

1. Restart your pc and as soon as it powers on (even before you see anything on your screen), repeatedly tap on F8 to access the advanced boot menu.

2. Choose the option to "Repair your computer"

3. It should lead you a menu with an option to restore it to factory settings

Resetting a Dell Inspiron 1501 to the factory settings allows the user to restore the Dell Inspiron to the original operating condition as if it was just taken out of the box. I am selling my computer and I would like to reset it back to factorys settings.

If you have the restore disks then you can do a factory reset. If there is no restore disk then you will have to re-install windows from the Windows Installation CD. If you do not have the CD then you may want to sell the system without any operating system.Download a boot disk called Boot and Nuke to format your hard drive before you sell the system. This will erase ALL data from your hard drive.

How do you reset to factory settings on a Dell Latitude D510 laptop without discs?

Only way to do this would be to do a "system restore" without disks you can only hope you have restore points setup... run system restore from control panel and find out..

if no restore points contact dell for a restore disk.. remember the system restore without disks will not remove viruses or other harmful files..
