Question about Samsung WF337AA Front Load Washer
You may have a biofilm buildup in the tub that is too thick to be removed by splashing it with your cleaner. The owner's manual says "Clean the interior of your Washer periodically to remove any dirt, soil, odor, mold, mildew, or bacterial residue that may remain in your Washer as a result of washing clothes. Failure to follow these instructions may result in unsatisfactory conditions, including unpleasant odor and/or permanent stains on your Washer or laundry. Hard water deposits may be removed, if needed. Use a cleaner labeled "Washer safe". "
I take that to mean you'll need a bucket of soapy water, rubber gloves and a sponge or rag to manually scrub the tub and door. Don't neglect the gasket, especially around the edges. Run a rinse cycle to finish the job. If you still have odor, run a rinse with the sanitizer and the SilverCare option; perhaps the silver will take out the remaining bacteria on the outer tub. As a last resort, you may have to disassemble the machine to hand-scrub otherwise inaccessible parts in contact with wash water.
If you use well water or city water with little or no chlorination, you may have bacteria in the water lines to the washer. This may make the water itself stink. To check for this, shut off the external water supply valve to the washer, disconnect the hoses and place them in a large (5-gallon) bucket. Turn on the water supply briefly and sniff. If the water is bad, you'll need to run it at full rate into the bucket to flush the lines, then consider installing an anti-microbial filter in you household plumbing. Also, check the inlet strainers where the hose connects to the machine. If they are clogged or loaded with slime, this will slow the flow rate and make it easier for bacteria to hang on inside the hoses.
Another possibility is a bad reaction between a chemical contaminant in the water and your laundry detergent. You can test for this by stirring a bit of the detergent into the bucket of sample water.
