I just purchased the HP Webcam HD-3110 and the cd will not run the installation. My computer is not even detecting the cd. Is there another method I can use to download the files necessary to run the webcam?

My Pavilion dv6700 does not recognize my webcam, why?

Hi,

This is normally the case when you are not using the updated or correct webcam drivers. When you purchase a webcam it normally comes with a CD that has the software to run the webcam. Install this software if you can. If you do not have the CD I would recommend you visit the website of the webcam manufacturer and download them from the site. The site will have the most up to date software and I recommend using this. If the webcam is fairly old, the software on the cd might not work.

I would also recommend updating the computer drivers directly through the HP site. You can click here for the HP driver update site.

Updating the software should resolve this issue. Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
G33k

Webcam not working/not found.

Does you web cam indicates(user's manual)an operating system?and will that OS support it.Operating system like Windows xp,vista or windows 7.If it is, locate another USB port like at the back of your CPU.Either your USB inputs or the cord of your webcam is not working.Cause any three of the operating system(even Linux) will immediately detect the presence of any hardware connected to it and will eventually ask for a driver from a CD provided with the webcam you purchased. And if it will be detected and you don't have the software driver, you can download it from compaq web site and install it.I'm pretty sure it will it will run smoothly.

Computer wont boot running vista dont have boot cd to repair tried the startup repair wont work i dont have a back up either

did you upgrade to vista and then computer won't boot?.
your computer may have not met the hardware requirements which lead to this result.

I would try to save the files by taking the hd out and slave/enclosure install it another machine in order to save the files you need to keep, an alternative solution is to do the same with a usb hd and a live knopixx cd.

once you have saved your files out of the current hd, I would try to fresh install of the operating system assuming that you do have hardware to support the installation.

some computer may not provide a boot or recovery cd but a hidden partition to restore your original installation from or some times even repair the installation. find out on your computer manufacturer's website the recovery methods or a way to purchase recovery cd's (if no hidden partition).
if you do have a hidden partition, your computer manufacturer should provide a manual online to access that partition at startup.

good luck!

Can't get it networked on my mac that has windows parallel xp cant find it

Hi
I recognize the importance of resolving this issue and I look forward in providing you with the necessary assistance you need.

Problem: Cannot get network on the Mac not specified
OS : MAC computer Windows installed on it
Printer Office jet 6500 Wireless.

Solution :
There are few thing which are required to know before we start trouble shooting

IMPORTANT : Before you can install the product, your wireless network must already be set up. (To set up your network, follow the instructions that came with your particular access point.)

IMPORTANT : Before you can install the product, you must have the following information about the network:
  • Network name : The network name is the SSID (Service Set Identifier).
  • Password : WEP key or WPA passphrase

For a new product:CD installation is a quick and easy method and if you do not have a CD, you can download the software you need.

CD installation : CD installation might not work if you are installing the product on a computer running a newer operating system that released AFTER the HP product released as the software on the CD is current to the date of the product release.

Downloading the HP Drivers :Downloading the software provides the best results for your older product. Even though it takes more time than using the CD, downloading the latest software can help you avoid installation issues. Downloading is also the recommended method if your computer operating system released after the HP product released. The software that you can download from the HP Web site is the most current software available for your product. HP often updates software and drivers AFTER the product and CD release to the market ..

Wireless installation: If you have not previously installed the software, follow these instructions.
Step one: Prepare for installation
1 Make sure that you have the following requirements before you begin:
  • Network name: The network name is the SSID (Service Set Identifier).
  • WEP key or WPA security passphrase
  • A computer that is connected to the wireless network.
  • Internet access. HP recommends broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL.
  • Your wireless-capable HP product. Place it close to the computer during the installation procedure.
  • A USB cable (used only during installation).
  • Administrator privileges or password
2. Make sure the product, access point, and computer are all on, and that the computer is connecting to the wireless network.
3. Connect the USB Cable to the rear port of the HP product and to any USB port on the computer.
4. Exit all applications running on your computer.Install the software
To install the product software, follow the steps for the method that you want to use (CD or download).
Method one: Install the software with the software CD
  1. Insert the Macintosh product CD into the CD drive of the computer.
  2. Double-click the HP software disc icon that displays under the Xp/Macintosh HD icon.
  3. Double-click the HP Installer icon. The HP Installer program opens.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to start the installation.
  5. When prompted to set up your device and software, select Continue .
  6. If a check mark does not appear, select Configure your device for a wireless network , and then select Continue.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the software
Option two: Change connection type
1. Open HP Device Manager.
2. From the Information and Settings drop-down menu, click Setup Assistant . 3. The HP Setup Assistant window opens.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to change your connection type to an existing wireless network.

My notebook is saying i no longer have a webcam what should i do?

ok i want to confirm its not detecting or is it not you the shortcut or icon the nb. what you can do is that you can run " scan for hardware changes" from device manager. Right click on my computer and then choose properties and then choose hardware there you can find device manager. or you can open control panel and then type in search " add hardware". it will automatically detect your webcam and then it will ask you for the driver cd for the application that you must have on your nb when you have purchased the nb or it will preinstalled in your nb.

Cant find webcam

When installing a webcam, you must first install the software from the CD that came with your webcam. DO NOT CONNECT THE WEBCAM before you have installed the software or your computer will not detect the new hardware. You may need to go to ADD/REMOVE programs, remove your webcam software and start over, making sure not to connect your webcam until instructed to do so.

Hi..i had to do a restore in my pc and i missplaced my hp web cam cd to install it...how can i install my hp web cam device????

The simple method would be to visit HP's website here, and enter in the exact model of your webcam. From there, it should ask you to pick which operating system you're running, and be able to download the webcam driver that way.

I have just purchased an Enter 5 Megapixel Webcam but dont know how to install and i dont have a CD for the same to install, can you provide me with the link from where i can download the same to install...

Hi,
It's a 'Driverless' webcam. No Driver install is required, plugit in and XP will detect it, do a behind the scenes usb install and it'll be up and running. Not sure about Vista, though.

Hope this helps
