Question about NEC MultiSync LCD1700M+ (Black) 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

The VGA cable on my NEC MultiSync LCD1700M+ has a loose connection and I need to replace it. The only one I could find that appears to be the same is this one: http://store.thirtyday.com/vgatolcdmoco.html . Unfortunately, that cable is only 17" and I need a longer cable. If anyone could tell me where to get one I'd appreciate it.

The orange light continuously blinks on my NEC MultiSync FE990. I'm thinking it might possibly be the video cable which is attached to the monitor. If this sounds like the problem, how would I...

It could either be the Monitor has gone bad, the video card in your tower, or the cable connecting the two, the orange light signifies that the system is not getting the signal from the tower. Try replacing the VGA cable, if this is not an option try using the monitor on a different computer, if still no picture then the monitor is no good, if you get a picture try a second monitor with your desktop. If you get no picture then it is time for a new motherboard or graphics card. As far as replacing the cable if it is one piece with the monitor, it isn't recommended unless you a very comfortable opening the monitor up, in which case you risk causing more damage.

NEC 17"1700M Works fine most

Either an overheating video-card, or a loose connection between the video-card and the monitor.

What cable do I buy

If it is a dvi monitor then you would need a dvi cable. VGA monitor would need a VGA cable. HDMI monitor would need a hdmi cable. If it is compatible with both dvi & vga and your video card has a dvi output then dvi is a better quality than vga. You can purchase the cable online at a store like cables2go. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

NEC MultiSync FE2111SB 22in monitor problem

a blinking green light usually indicates no video signal. check your cables, and if you have another computer, try it on that. otherwise, carefully check your vga signal cable, and the connections on the neck board [where the crt plugs into]

Projectors

yes i have the MT 800 projector my self you can use Composit connection using the yellow, white, and red RCA wires, or you can use the S-video connector and the white and red audio connections. Or if your skybox has a dvi output you can use a DVI to VGA cable to connect that as well. which ever you use you need to select the same source in the menu of the projector that you are using. S-video, Composit, or RGB (for VGA)
