Reset the player push the power button while also hoding the volume up button. This resets all of the freeze ups that you may encounter and it doesnt erase all of your songs.

Mine did the same thing today after me buying it yesterday. i found that when I hit the RESET button, and then pressed down the power button, it worked again.

SOURCE: MP3 WONT TURN ON
Take a small thin object such as a staple or paper clip and insert it into the reset hole on the left side. GENTLY push the staple in as far as it will go, hold a couple of seconds, and pull it out. Now plug the GoGear into your computer and press and hold the Play button until the unit turns on.
If this doesn't work, your unit is probably damaged and will need to be replaced or sent to Phillips for repair if under warranty.
