Question about Washing Machines

Hoover 201M 5.00Kg Heavy DutyTop load leaks slightly . I cant see any easy way of removing the outer case to look inside to find out where the leak may be. there are only a few screws holding the control panel onto the machine body, but no other obvious fastenings of the outer case to the chasis/motor/tub/. inner bits Is there an instruction/workshop manual on the net ? thanks, tom hay

  • Unplug the washing machine from the wall outlet.

  • 2

Remove the plastic end caps on the left and right sides of the control panel using your fingers, and then remove the screws under the end caps.

  • 3

Lift the control panel up and rotate it 180 degrees.

  • 4

Unplug the wire connector from the top of the cabinet and then use a flat-head screwdriver to release the spring clips on the left and right sides of the cabinet.

  • 5

Tilt the cabinet toward you, then lift and remove. Set the cabinet aside.

  • New top load machines all have the cabinet where it comes off forward and the screws only hold the control panel on.

How do I remove the agitator from my Hoover 201M washing machine. It really needs to be cleaned under there with all the muck thats building up. Thanks.

if it is a top loader machine with an agitator that stands up in the center of the tub, try removing the dispenser and lint trap from the center ( normally just a pull up) and right down the bottom there is a 10 or 12 mm bolt that you undo and that allows you to pull the agitator up off the drive shaft
talk with a service agent as to how to get the agitator out or down load a workshop manual from google by typing in --workshop manual for hoover model 201m washing machine -- and if there is a pdf version then down load it

    Tip

Water leak from door of LG front load washer

First, clean off the bottom of the door glass where it contacts the gray tub gasket when the door closes. Any hair or other build up can result in leakage. Second, if that does not completely solve your leak, you can move the location of the spring which holds the tub gasket from the very bottom (6 O'clock position) to the hinge area (9 O'clock position). Third: Sometimes, the reason you get a leak is due to the installation. If the washer was pushed into place by applying pressure in the center front of the washer, the outer front panel can be slightly deformed (inwerd) resulting in leakage from the door. If that is the case, sometimes you can remove the outer clamp and outer part of the gray seal and pull out on the front panel to correct the situation if it is not too severe, rather than replacing the entire front panel.

    Washing machine leaks

Go to fixitnow.com to find out how to remove cabinet. If it's a big leak it's most likely a hose; if a little leak, more likely the pump. Both easy to replace once you have cabinet off.

Water leaks during drain cycle and the machine

    Hi

If the water leaks during drain and spin only: A washer that leaks only during the drain/spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.
