You may have to take it apart, but this will most likely void your warranty, it may be worth it though. You could also try and send it to them, but it sounds like an easy fix, just take apart everything correctly and put it back the way it was.

How force eject disc

Apple cd eject

There are a few ways to eject a disk.
Push the Eject button in the upper right corner of the keyboard.
Drag the disk to the trash.
Press Command-E

If the disk is stuck and these methods do not work many Macs have a tiny hole next to the CD slot. Carefully insert a small straightened paperclip straight into the hole and push until the CD pops out.

Holding down the left mouse button during startup also ejects a CD

I cannot eject a cd from the drive. i have tried to eject using the button and in my computer. in device manager it says the device is fine. any ideas?? there isnt an manual eject hole for the paperclip...

Shut down the PC, for 2min, then turn on, this is either a hardware or software problem. Software meaning that it is unable to execute the command to eject, shutting down and turning on may resolve this problem. Or hardware is the sence that the disk is Physicaly stuck in which case you would need some one with the know how to remove the disk without damaging the components within.
Your timely rating of this soloution is much appreciated.
Thanks

Ejecting a Stuck CD in Mac OSX

  • First try the normal methods to remove the disc. Drag its icon to the Trash can in the Dock or select 'Eject' from the File menu.
  • If you are running a virtual machine, e.g. VMFusion, ensure that the CD is disconnected from the virtual machine. This will sometimes allow the CD to now show up in Mac OS X.
  • Shut down the computer and start up whilst holding down the mouse button. This may take some time, but keep your finger on the mouse button right up until the disc comes out or the log-in screen has appeared.
  • If you have Toast Titanium installed on your computer, choose EJECT DISC from the menubar.
  • Sometimes you can successfully use the eject disc button in iTunes even if the disc is not visible to the Finder
  • Open Disk Utility and choose the disc you wish to eject in the left-hand pane, then click on the Eject button.
  • Some Macintoshes have a paperclip hole that you can insert a straightened paperclip into, manually triggering the eject mechanism.
  • Open Terminal and type "drutil tray eject" to eject the disc/tray, and "drutil tray close" to close the tray.
  • Restart the computer while holding down Command-Option-O-F, to enter the Open Firmware prompt. Type "eject cd" without the quotes, and press return. The disk ought to eject. To start into OS X, type "mac-boot" without the quotes. Press return, and the computer will continue with the startup. (This will not work on an Intel Mac. There is no Open Firmware on Intel Macs. )
  • If your computer has an eject button on the keyboard, restart the computer holding down the Option key. When the startup disk selection screen appears, let go of the option key and press the keyboard's eject button.

Will not eject disk

Hi,

Is your eject button broken? Does it click when you punch it, or goes in like the button on the board is broken?

It is either this or there is something jammed inside your system.

I have a brand new game stuck in my wii console how do i get it out

1.Make sure the WII is stood up properly.
2.Then switch on the WII
3.Now look near the eject button...

- Look at the right top bendy bit of the eject button put your nail through it and press it down it should eject.

- If still not ejected after several seconds holding, disconnect all the cable's in the WII leave it for a while (approx 5 Min) and plug it back in, switch on the WII, then press eject.

- If it does not come out look inside the drive and see if the disk can be physically pulled out now.

I put a mini disk in my macbook not knowing it would not load - now it will not eject

Be persistant-shake the F&^% out of it. Face it with the disk slot facing down and just shake it a few times. Worked for me.

CD won't eject. I've restarted and tried all the fixes recommended by MAC forums and so far no luck. Any other ideas?

If it is just the computer that isn't ejecting the disk (and not a physically "stuck" DVD) there is a way to force eject.

Go to Apple menu > Restart and hold down your mouse button until the disk ejects.

Or you can try the firmware method...

If all other methods fail, you can try to eject the disk using the firmware (this may not work on all computers). To use this method, start up and briefly use the computer with only the firmware loaded, not the standard Mac OS X interface.

To eject a disc using firmware:
Restart the computer.
When you hear the startup sound, press and hold the Command-Option-O-F keys. (The Command key has an Apple on it.)
Release the keys when you see a white welcome screen.
At the prompt, type:
eject cd

Press Return, then wait a few seconds. The disc drive should eject the disc, and "ok" appears on the screen when the action is complete.
Type:
mac-boot

Press Return.

Your computer starts up normally and you see the familiar Mac OS X desktop.

we got it to work eventually by using a pin (ie a dressmakers pin). We realised the eject button wasn't clicking when pushed down, so was physically stuck, so used pin to pop the left hand side of the eject button out/up. Works a treat now.
