In 99.9% of the cases there isn't anything you can do except replace the panel. That last 0.01% are not dead pixels but "stuck" pixels and can sometimes be fixed by lightly rubbing the screen with your finger.

My new lg 3d tv is closng on top bottom and sides is there anything i can do to cure the problem

Could you provide more information? What do you mean when you say, "closing?" Do you mean there is a black band around the picture? If so that means the original picture is recorded at a lower pixel density than your TV will display.
In the past most TV program signals provided a picture dimensions (in computer standards) very roughly 600 pixels wide by 400 pixels tall. What this means is that a picture of that pixel size will display as a small, squarish image slightly wider than it is tall on a (now) standard 1080p LCD television--which produces an image 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high.
That would be nearly unwatchable (picture too small) except for the fact that most TVs compensate for the relatively small size of "standard definition TV (SD TV, as opposed to HDTV) by enlarging the image so that the top and bottom edges of the picture touch the top and bottom of the TV screen. This will leave black bands on either side of the picture. Some LCD TVs will automatically stretch BOTH dimensions of the image, which yields a distorted, "sqaushed" image.
All my comments above apply to both standard LCD and 3D-LCD TVs, by the way.

My tv screen has a black spot

HI,
Are you sure that there is balck dot on the sreen. Check one more time is it any dust on the screen.
Black spot Means pixel of the Lcd sreen is fault. There are thousands of pixels in an lcd screen. when any of the pixel or a group of pixels become faulty the black spot will appear. Its not possile to rectify the problem other than replacing the LCD panle if its avilable. The avilability of lcd screen is very rare.

Is it true that when one pixel goes out, others are soon to follow?

No, that's not true at all. Each pixel is its only little device - one pixel does not effect another. The pixels work together to make a picture, but are all controlled separately. If your pixel is "stuck" and not dead, then you may be able to fix it! A stuck pixel is red, blue, green or white, while a dead pixel will show up as black. Sometimes a stuck pixel can be fixed by covering a pencil eraser with a cloth and pushing down on the pixel gently while the TV is on. So, in summary - no, one bad pixel doesn't mean any other pixels are bad. Hope that helps, Alex

There is a black spot in the screen. How do I get it out?

Hello:
LCD TVs have millions of "pixels" that change color to make up a complete picture. Sometimes in the manufacturing process, pixels can become damaged (called "dead pixels"). There is no way for the consumer to fix these. Most manufacturers have a certain number of pixels that are "allowed" to be broken before they will fix it.
You should contact either the vendor you purchased the TV from, or Polaroid support.
You can contact Polaroid Support at 1-800-POLAROID (1-800-765-2764).

Theres a black dot on the top right side wat can i do to fix it.

Is this a LCD and is it a very small dot ? If the answer is yes to both then it is a dead pixel (a white dot would be a shorted pixel). Most LCD makers wont do anything about this unless a certain number of pixels are bad. The only way to fix this is to replace the whole panel and that will probably cost more then a new tv.

Pixel damage

Those small pixels are now damaged not much u can do with it. Some people say you can press on the screen the pixels affected and possiblilty get them to make contact and light back up ( I honestly highly doubt it) If u can live with and not very distracting keep watching it. But if you want to order a replacement, more than likely it will cost more than the TV did when u bought it. If its still under warranty get it replaced if possible.
