I've even tried editing the movie to create a new file to see if that would work, then found out once you edit a movie on the camera you can no longer upload it. UGH. If you have the appropriate memory card reader for your computer, try removing the card from the camera and inserting it in the computer. If not you can try connecting the camera by USB.
Once the card / camera is plugged in, Windows should recognize it in a few seconds. It may ask you to import pictures and /or videos (you can if you want).
Then go to my computer and select the drive for the card or camera. They are often named something obvious like the brand of the memory card or camera. Once you open it, you'll have to locate the files you want. Generally there's a few folders in the drive. Pictures are usually in one called DCIM, but the name can vary by model. Videos are sometimes in there or sometimes in other folders. You may need to look around on the card for a bit to find them.
Once you find the pictures, open another my computer window and navigate to the folder where you want the videos. Drag the video files from the card or camera to this folder.
That should get the videos on your computer. If this doesn't work, please let me know where you're running into difficulty, any errors you get and your version of Windows.
Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.

I have tried using 3 different applications to get to the video...and each one states it is unable to read the file. As if it's corrupt. It sees the video, but when it tries to pull it into any of the software, I get an error. I can find the file, but the video seems to be corrupt.

You may want to try one of the tools listed here: *WARNING* I have not tried these tools so use them at your own risk.

Also VLC is really good at playing all kinds of videos and will let you convert them, so you might want to give it a chance as well.

Hope one of them fixes your issue.

Try playing the video on a computer some cameras don't have a speaker for playback. Try to download it to the computer to see if you got sound. Most camera hook up to a tv using a av cable which you can do as well. Hope this helps

I have a canon power shot sd 1000 and I can down load pics but the videos don't download

You don't specify details on what happens when you try to download your videos, but it's usually a software error that causes this type of problem. Regardless, there is another better way to download pictures and videos, and that is by using a portable USB card reader (please see this link). Card readers are available everywhere for a couple dollars (try Amazon first). They are a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos and videos than using a cable attached to your camera.

Can't Download A Large File from Canon A560 Digital Camera

Get a card reader. The one pictured below is $13 at Walmart. Create a folder on your desktop. Insert your card into the card reader and the other end into a USB port on your computer. Drag and drop the video file into the folder you created. b957eb4.jpg

Canon ixus camera says my movie clip is an error

The video files your particular camera makes should be AVI format. What media player are you using? I've heard of problems playing AVI files with Windows Media Player.
Try using a different media player like VLC or Winamp. There are also video format conversion programs out there for free. I use anyvideoconverter for that. You can get all of those programs from's download center.

Youll need to get your camera to a broadband equipped PC and then try the shot videos. Windows media player will automatically download the codecs needed, but I dont know how to get those to your PC.

It is possible that it's a codec problem, try and see what the video format of your camera video is and it's sound format, then go download some codecs appropriate for the video and the sound will play again...
