SOURCE: dishwasher won't start

jamcdani Most likely the problem with your dish washer is bad key pad. It is not repairable and has to be replaced. Whirlpool does not sell it separate and you have to by the whole console assembly. The price range is between $95 and $115 (different colors) and it is not very complicated to replace it. I can help you with the complete step by step instructions and, if you provide the complete model number of your dish washer, I get the part number and the best price for you. Gendos post back...

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher - Blinking Quick Rinse Light

My guess is that the foil that the buttons are mounted to is defective.  The control module "reads" the buttons that are pushed by the fact that the resistance between two pins on the circuitboard becomes zero ie. your pushing the button shorts out two pins.  the foil could have moistire damage or the resiistance of the tracks could be too high.  Solution for both would be to replace the control panel button foil.

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

Check for loose wires on all switches and their is a fuse on the electronic panel that should be checked.

SOURCE: Maytag Dishwasher Doesn't Start

on a dishwasher an ohmmeter is almost useless. the best way to check is to look for voltage. at the door switch check for voltage to ground on both sides. if you have 120 on both sides of the switch then follow the wire over to the control board. if you have 120 going into the control board and nothing coming out of the control then you nood to start looking for a broken neutral. however the likelyhood that its the control panel may be a better idea especially if you are hitting buttons and nothing happens. try reseating any ribbon cables

Dishs not coming out clean

It is a known fact that if you rince your dishs off before you place them in the dishwasher your dishs will come out alot cleaner. Stuck on foods can be baked on the dish causing the dish not to come out clean also by doing this it will exstend the life of your product because the passage ways for the sprayer will not get cloged giving a full pressure washing

The dished appear to have a milky film on them after washed. We we use rince aid but it is not working. How de we get them sparkeling clean ?

Hi

White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle.

You can't put a cake in the thing like the maytag commercial, - DUH - . try to rince the dishes or even scrap them into the trash can, or if you have dogs, well just a thought. Good Luck!

Food left on dishes, and glasses are very cloudy. We use rince aid, and have tried several detergents. Water temperature has been turned up twice.

The problem is hard water. Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com. They have a new product out that solves this problem once and for all. It filters the water entering your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that cause these spots. Very affordable and guaranteed to leave your dishes looking amazing every time.

Coating of white on dishes that doesn;t come off

usually caused by a combination of too much soap, too hard a water source and no rince agent. Run some vinegar in a cycle without any dishes ( or soap or anything else). a bit stinky but won't stay . then you could do it again with the dishes to clean them up.

Dishwasher beeping when you put it on rince or wash. checked water is on rince aid is full & salt is full

check to see if there is any sign of water leakage from the machine {usually from the rear} if the base is sealed it could be that the machine has gone into safe mode due to the machine thinking its got a water leak{some make and model dish washers ahve anti flood switches fitted to the base of the machine.
