How to restring drum on Echo 210 gas trimmer

Pull the head off by turning the inner hub counter clockwise while holding the outer head still. Once the inner head pops out, turn it over and look for the string rotation arrow. If you can't find the string winding directional arrow, start the trimmer and determine shaft rotation direction (generally counter clockwise) and wind the string in the same direction as the head rotates when installed.
Pull about 5 arm lengths of string out of a string spool and cut it off. Place the inner trimmer head on an object that will hold it while you pull the string to even lengths through the winding hole (the support brackets of a pickup truck tail gate work well for holding the inner head while doing this).
Begin wrapping the string double wraps in the proper direction, laying them evenly and closely to the previous wrap, working it back and forth as the string begins to build up. Avoid crossing the string over itself more than necessary, the string can weld itself together if the strands cross to awkwardly. Once the string is wound, hold the head with one hand and slide the string through the outer head holes, avoid letting the string come unwrapped.
Carefully place the inner head down into the outer header. Avoid letting the string get caught between the inner and outer head. Once the heads are together lock the inner head onto the outer head by turning it and locking the round knobs into the outer head slots.
You can trim the string or let the trimmer guard do it. If the string doesn't feed it is either wound the wrong way, tangled between the inner/outer head or welded to itself.

Loading the line is confusing because there is no arrow on the spool (despite what is written in the directions) but there is an arrow on the cap that points counterclockwise. However, disregard the arrow on the cap. As written in bold letters on Figure 15 in the manual, both lines are wound CLOCKWISE as seen looking down on the top of the spool. This works.

Homelite trimmer, gas, string - y is the string wrapping itself around the head of the trimmer?

The line on my new 26cc Homelite would also feed out by itself. That started me thinking the line was wound backwards. I wrapped the line in the opposite direction as was shown on the bump feed reel and now the dang thing works although the bump feed needs to be "bumped" pretty hard to work. Is it possible that the reel was manufactured with the (string direction) arrows pointing the wrong direction? The new 26cc unit is also underpowered compared to my older 25cc trimmer.

How do I replace the string correctly on the weed trimmer?

If it is like most trimmers, there is an arrow on one end or the other. The arrow shows you the direction to wind the string. There should also be a size shown. It will be in a decimal:.065, .080, .095...etc. That is the diameter of the string. Good luck...Lee

I need information on how to re thread a homelite string trimmer 155 i have not got a manual can you help

When you pull off the spool, look at the end of it. You will see an arrow pointing in the direction you wind the string. If you have two strings, they both wind in the same direction. Look on the body of the spool between the edges, on the barrel. You will see a hole or holes to start the string in. Good luck...Lee

No directions on how to re-string the spool on my TB-720

On the bump mechanism, line up the two arrows, then unscrew the bump, this will release the spool, then you wind the two strings in the opposite directions, the arrow on the spool will tell you the direction to wind the string, replace spool, spring, bump feed, and you are good to go. I hope this has helped you.
