Something is definitely not right with it. First thing I would do is try a reset. You can access that from the menu and your user manual will tell you if your model has other ways of doing it (near the end of the manual under troubleshooting). Next I would look at the Garmin website for any updates or system patches for that unit. Apply any that you can get and see if that fixes it. Those two usually fix about 99% of things and the next step is contact Garmin support. Just go to the garmin site and look for the phone number for your area under support. They will probably get you to reset it first but after that they may have a unpublished fix or get you to send it in. Garmin support is real good so they do try to get you working un the least painful way they can. ;-]

..Computer screne is black,,d sub comes up and

Huh? D-Sub is a connector? If you plug an external monitor into it the laptop is probably designed to shut of the internal screen. If this is not what you mean please get someone who can write a functional English sentence to clarify your meaning.

Ice maker is not working.

Ice maker has built in thermostat that turns cycle on at around 10 degrees F. If freezer temp does not reach that point the ice maker will not cycle. So either the freezer is not cold enough or the thermostat is faulty.

Make sure that the ice maker motor that turns the cams and controls the various stages is also working.

I have a cpu with windows xp and it wont go past the splashscreen

Please try the following:
1.
  • Click the start button
  • Right-click "My Computer" and select "Explore"
  • Right-click the disk (your primary hard disk, most probably should be the "C" drive) and select "Properties"
  • In the properties dialog click the tab "Tools"
  • Click "check now"
  • The "checking disk" dialog appears, check both options and click start
  • You will probably see a message that chkdsk wants exclusive access to the disk and therefore wants to begin first thing after you restart your computer. Accept by clicking ok.
  • Restart your computer
When your computer restarts you will see chkdsk advancing through several different stages of verification, examining your hard disk. If it detects no errors, Windows will continue to start to your normal desktop. If there are errors, chkdsk presents a report with what it has done and waits for your confirmation.
2. If the above doesn't solve your problem, repair the windows xp by doing as is given on the page at http://www.theeldergeek.com/repairing_windows_xp.htm (please see instructions under section "Windows Installation CD - Repair Current Installation:")

The dishwasher continues to drain and the timer does not move

Sounds like the timer needs to be replaced, especially if the tub is empty of water, and the timer will not advance no matter how long you leave it there.
