Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

Open Question

My Beeman 1048 Air rifle is about 5 years old but has probably only been fired around 500 times max. Today I was target shooting and all of a sudden I could no longer crack the barrel/**** the gun. It's locked up tight. I opened up the gun and took out the pivot screw holding the barrel to the main assembly, which allowed me to **** it. But after reassembling and firing again, it won't re-crack. It's locked up tight. Any suggestions on what is wrong and how to go about fixing it?

The piston doesnt lock on the trigger. if trigger is adjustable set adjustment more coarse. Check also sure that trigger mechanism is in forward position and not stuck halfway. If still not hooking see if piston hooh and trigger catch not damaged. very seldom the piston will twist inside making it impossible to hook, just realign piston.

SOURCE: My 870 Remington 12 ga. pump's barrel now moves

HELLO; Check and see if you have the barrel set into the receiver fully, and look at the receiver and see if it isn't split or the mag. hasn't become loose, I have two of these guns and Ive never had any problem like your discribing, but not to say it cant happen. PS make sure you retract the bolt before you insert the barrel in the receiver. GOOD LUCK....GREASY.

How to fix my beeman qb78 co2 single shot airgun from leaking almost immediately after shooting it only a few times?

Hi.
Check this guy out archerairguns.info.
Before you strip down your rifle, try the oil treatment.
Oil seals dry out even from factory delivered guns. This guy runs you through the "fix".
Simple steps but you need to buy some Pellgun Treatment Oil.
It's only a small tube and this guy walks you through the steps.
They're really good guns and owners really love theirs.
Good luck.

If your pumping the rifle and you hear air seeping out then the seal on your air chamber is bad or got pushed from where it is suppose to be, you can take it apart and see, its real simple...

How do you make adjustments, towards the shot or towards center of the target?

You move the cross hairs to the shot. Set up your gun on a bench and start by firing at a target out at about 15 yards. Once you are "on paper" set your cross hairs on the center and fire a 3 shot group Adjust the scope to the group. if the group is down 3 inch and left 4 inch. Adjust your scope accordingly. Then Fire another 3 shot group, until you are shooting center. Every time you adjust your scope tap the barrel of the scope with a screwdriver handle to keep the cross hairs from sticking. Once on at 15 yards move out to your max range and adjust to that.

Unfortunately air rifles are hard on scopes due to the recoil...Suggest replacing the scope with something more of a brand model , like Bushnell or something like that..

I can shoot my centerpoint scope on my .22 and it

When adjusting a scope just move a few clicks at the time, after every few clicks tap the scope with a screw driver handle. Fire 2 rounds for group tap and fire the third round it should be in line with the 2. Keep that up till on target. Let the gun sit till cold and re-fire for grouping, 2 rounds, wait then the third. To keep shooting round after round can get the reciver warm enough to wedge the scope in its bases, causing your problem.
