Since there is water that flows to the water dispenser, the water valve is working. Now, there's a spout that water flows from to the icemaker tray. Look for it. It's located on the back wall inside the freezer and maybe behind the icemaker tray. Check and see if it's frozen. If so, defrost your freezer by turning the temperature gauge to off position. Wait a while until it's defrosted, then turn it back on.
Next, make sure that the metal wire is in down position.
If that doesn't work, your icemaker maybe defective and needs replacement.
If the tray doe not rotate at all - replace icemaker,
DA97-00258C If the tray does rotate, but does not twist when it's upside down - you need either the icemaker support bracket, DA61-002205A or the tray, part number DA63-01453B. Both parts are cheap, so I'd get and replace both.
Something caught inside the water valve (replace water valve ) such as dirt , sand . Or , the icemaker died in the fill position . Disconnect the icemaker plug inside the freezer , and see if water still runs from the icemaker fill tube . Also make sure the icemaker fill cup on the icemaker , is not clogged with ice .
you need to troubleshoot the problem, if the wire arm that tells the ice maker to stop making ice when full is in the upright position the ice maker will not make ice. the problem has to be either the switch on this arm malfunction. but probably in MOST cases it is your electronic water valve which has gone out. this is located on the water supply line on the back of the fridge at the bottom probably behind some cardboard or plastic. it is the same kind of water valve as a dishwasher uses, if it malfunctions it will not deliver water to your tray, manually fill the tray and put the arm down, if the maker dispenses the ice out of the tray, chances are your electronic valve is broken.
Clear the Ice tray by pressing the button under the ice maker. The problem is that the ice is in the first couple of slots is not dumping and the tray tries to fill again and over flows. I pressed the button and cleared the tray of ice (This will tilt the tray and twist it to empty it) that was re-frozen several times without dumping. My ice maker works perfectly after I did the above. I think the problem arises if the door did not close completely. I stopped hanging the dish cloth on the door and on my LG Dish wisher. I hope this helps
Just had this issue - after checking all line connections, I pulled the ice maker feed water line from the back of the unit and found the tube was blocked with ice. Melted the ice with some hot water, and all is good once more. I would check for this before getting into the solinoid.
are u sure that model # Is right.. DOnt come up in any of my model data bases
Seems like u might of got a bad icemaker.. if the water is coming into the icemaker from the water valve..
icemaker has to have power, to do that... all funtions after that would be controled by the iceaker ..
The only other thing i can think of is your refrigerator has to be a certain temp to activate icemaker somewhere around 0 give or take some to be safe
