Question about LG LRSPC2031 Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

I had one small problem and now have created a larger one. First off I had on on going problem with the water dispenser in my LG side by side refrigerator. The push plate where you pressed your glass to would get stuck and water would continue to dispense. This was definitely a mechanical problem and not electrical. None of the pieces appeared to be broken, but I think one of the several plastic pieces that make up that assembly were not staying put like they should, possibly something snapped out of place or was bent. New problem. After I tried to fix it several times we had just decided to live with the problem and were using the button instead of the push plate. So anyway, someone mentioned that cleaning those pieces might help problem #1. It's not an easy area to access so I just tried to flush some water up there. No luck, but then all by itself, one hour later, it started dispensing water and would not stop. This one was an electrical problem. I realize that I got some water in someplace that it shouldn't be. We were able to keep the water from flowing by turning on the child lock. So now I thought I might help be able to help things dry out by blowing some warm air up where I had sent the water. No I am getting a Communications Error, all the buttons shut down, no water, no ice. The refrigerator itself seems to still be working. After I unplug it the buttons return to normal, but no water, and if I try to use the Child Lock button the CO error come back. I realize that I will probably need a service call. My one hope is that if things do dry out on their own the problem could take care of itself. On the unlikely chance of that happening in the middle of the night I am going to turn off the water supply so I don't create problem # 3 - flooded Kitchen ;-)

Water dispenser running slowly

Hello Cynthia;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You have a water pressure problem. You need at least 60 PSI water pressure to open the solenoid valves. I suspect you are getting small ice cubes.

If you have well water you are not going to get the pressure for fully dispenser flow.

I have experienced bad water filters. One time our techs received a large shipment of bad water filters. Remove the water filter and test the water dispenser.

With low water pressure you may not want to use a water filter

MY REFRIGERATOR IS PRODUCING ICE BUT NOT DISPENSING WATER

The water valve is a dual one. It has a small line for ice maker and a larger line for dispenser. Check the solenoid on the larger line for continuity. Get someone to press for water while you listen to the coil. Most likely it is gonna be the valve. It is located in the back and easy to find, just follow the water line to it.

No ice from in door dispenser or in ice bin

do you have a water dispenser feature as well, does it dispense water, if so is the ice maker portion turned on. If not turn the cube selector to small or large cubes.

LG ice maker only making two ice cubes at a time

Colenoid in the ice dispenser may be clogged or have a small amount of trash in it. Is there a filter on before the fridge (just after the ice maker shutoff)?

Water dispenser won't stop dispensing water!

Hi I dont have the knowledge of your fridge, but I'm just going to throw this idea your way , please forgive me if im wrong :)

Perhaps the problem is due to syphonage, the discharged liquids are creating a vacuum along the line.

Did you reposition the height of any supply hoses ? none of them should be above/higher the outlet source itself.

You could also try installing a inline reverse flow suppressor
(small plastic filter that only allows one-way direction of flow.

Water wont flow into LG LX259602b ice maker

You may have a bad water valve.  The valve has 2 sections, one for the water dispenser and the other for the ice maker.  Check those connections in the back of the refrigerator.  If everything is ok, replace the water valve.

Ice Maker Freezing Up and Ice not dispensing

Check your ice cube tray to see if it is warped. Mine was. I took the tray off and dipped it into boiling water and remoulded it to the original shape and re-installed it. So far no problems. The tray gets warped because of the ice cube release mechanism. The tray is rotated around until it meets a block on one corner which creates the twisting motion we used to do on manual trays. Over time it tends to warp the tray. Good luck
