Running the Go Gear on low power will give you strange symptoms like that. Reload the songs and see how it performs.

Unfortunately, if it is broke, Philips no longer has any of these to send you.

I am not able to turn on my Go Gear Vibe MP3 after charging it today. Please help.

Dear Consumer,
We regret and apologize for inconvenience caused to you.
The problem you have described in your web post, can be easily troubleshooted by doing the following tests.
1) Charge your Go Gear for 4 hours continuously, and then try turning it ON.
2) If its already charged and still you are unable to turn it on, than kindly connect it to your PC and then press the power button for few seconds. This should solve your problem.
3) If the player is still not working, then check whether your PC detects the Go Gear when it is connected using the USB Cable. If it is detected, then try to repair it using using Device Manager or Sound Bird.
If the problem persists, kindly share your contact details with us or contact us on the below mentioned contact details.

How Long Do I Charge Before I Can Put Songs On?

You can do it while plugged in to usb charger. Otherwise you can do it 2 hours after. It should be charged for about 6 hours

Will not turn on

Make sure that the hold/lock switch isn't engaged, and make sure it has been plugged into the computer for 3-4 hours to fully charge.
If it still won't work, run a Repair in the Philips Device Manager.

Can't charge, computer doesn't recognize

Make sure the hold/lock switch is not engaged - see manual for details. Probably needs to be replaced - that is a sure sign of a hardware issue, and it is not something that can just be repaired. but, just to be safe, try this:
Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Difficulty charging my go gear

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Then recharge for 3-4 hours only - charging longer may lead to problems

Go gear wont hold charge

There is a program that came with the installation Cd called Philips Device Manager. You can download it from www.usasupport.philips.com if you lost the CD. Use the Philips Device Manager to repair the player. If the device manager will not repair the player, then try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
