It seems like you dont have a factory-installed graphics card.
What you need to do is

  • Disconnect the power cord and the monitor.
  • open your computer case. Check in the back for screws. Only the screws on the sides of the back are for the case.
  • After the screws are removed, either slide back or foward the case or just pull it up.
  • Once inside, look at the back and locate where the monitor goes to. if it lines parallel to the floor, look at the card and write the manufacturer and model number.
If you cant read it, on the left of the card there is a screw that holds it to the chassis. unscrew it and carefully pull the card towards you by rocking it left and right.
  • after recording the info, gently push back in the card in the same slot where it was. and screw it back in.
  • put the case back the same way you took it out.
  • put all the screws back.
Post the info you wrote here. That way, it will bea easier to find the drivers.

I put new ram in my emachine 5210 why won't it work

If it was working before you put the ram in, then the ram you put in is the problem. Maybe you put in a ram that is not compatible or is bad.

Put the old ram back in to see if it works.

Go to 4 All Memory to make sure you get the memory that is for your computer.

What memory do i need for a emachine 5210

You have 2 slots and each slot will take 1GB modules of PC 3200 DDR400 Ram. So with 2 of them you will have 2GB of PC 3200 DDR400 total.

Emachines t3302 video controller

There are two drivers listed on Emachines support site. Try one and if it does not work, try the other. The computer probably shipped from Emachines with two different build of mother board.

I've installed a new window XP pro on my W3502 emachine (the same OS was on it b4) and can't get rid of the little yellow (?) video controler (video compatible) in there! the only think I added was a 520...

You need to install the video driver for your computer- Usually there is a disk with drivers, however you can go to the Emachines support site- http://www.emachines.com/support/drivers.html and download your drivers

My e machine 5210 needs video drivers as pitcure

Hello
No your wallet can stay shut.First you need to identify your graphics or video device.
Go to control panel, personalization, display, advanced.your graphics device or video card should be listed there.

Write down the manufacturer.Go to there websight and find your device usually at the support section.

Download and save file in my documents, once done open file and install to pc.

E machine also has a update utility at there websight youll need the model and serial # of your pc to use it.This will update all devices on yur pc.

Thanks.

Emachine 5210

Emachines used to use a poor quality power supply made by Bestec, I believe the quality is supposed to have improved in the last few years but inconsidering the number of dead Emachines that wind up in my workshop I doubt it.
The problem you have is that being a poor quality power supply there is a very high risk that it damaged the motherboard when it went out.
If you can borrow a power supply just to test with all the beter BUT be carefull some Emachines are proprietary and the main motherboard plug is not always wired in the standard way.
Check here for a replacement power supply if you can prove your motherboard to be OK.

Have a look on this site for examples of standard and proprietary power supply wiring colours.

Monitor doesn't work

Sounds like a bad video adapter. I'm assuming your emachines has an integrated video adapter. Put in a video card (with the power plug pulled out! Touch the bare metal frame of the computer with your hand before inserting the video card into the agp or pci slot Don't touch the motherboard). If you get video, you may or may not need to install drivers after that. XP has a lot of video drivers, but lacks quite a few of them, too.
