I use them all the time, you can do copy and paste or cut and paste.Just right click with your mouse on what you want to copy/cut click on either one take it over then go to your media right click again and select paste and it then will be on your media ready to use.

I hope this helps you out if it does please leave me some feedback.

Window was unable to format my 32 gb kingstone pendrive

To solve the problem use HP USB DISK STORAGE FORMAT TOOL V2.1.8. You can find it at http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197. Do not format your 32GB Kingston PenDrive with NTFS file system since it does not function. Use FAT32 instead.

I have a kingston 2 g flash drive. I put a large number of files from my Dell computer with Vista and the flash works fine on ANOTHER of my computers, a Toshiba Laptop. I put some files on my kingston...

this could be due to the format. i would try different formats on your usb. vista normally reads both but your format may be fat32 which is hit n miss. you can try UDF or FAT. I would format on a vista machine. insert, right click on the drive and select format. you may have to do both with a single file to test reads on both boxes. good luck.

Files in my kingston pendrive does not open up

Hi manoj_clc,

The "other PC" needs to have the same application installed that created the files. It sounds likely that is the problem for the other PC. If the files are failing to open using the PC that originally copied the files, then try formatting the USB drive (formatting deletes all data). Before you copy the file again, make sure the same file opens from your computer prior to copying it. Now copy the file to it the USB drive again.

Download this file and save it on your desktop.

Then double click on the writeenable.reg and click Yes when prompted to write to the registry.

Now put in your pen/ flah drive or remove and insert back again. It should now be writable.

I cannot format my kingston datatraveler it says its protected

hello evelymont i found a solution to our problem!!try to download HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and try to formta the flash stick to fat32 file system!!And after that you're ready to store any file you want unless you put them in a folder first because of the fat32 file system and not saving them on the root for exaple if you want to store an avi file at E: where E: is your kingston usb data traveler save the avi like this e:/name of the folder/avi file, and not in the root e:/avi file!!
that 's it !!congrats for your buy!!

Kingston DT1 2GB will not allow files to put onto it

This is not a dongle, a dongle resembles this storage device, but a dongle is uses to authorize the usage of an application..like PRO TOOLS.

Your usb storage drive may need to be reformatted. What computer/OS are you using?
