I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless A909g Printer. It tells me to replace My HP 940 black printerhead. After replacing it with a new HP 940XL, I'm told tp replace it again. Tried replacing it several times and I keep getting the same message. Looking for a solution to my problem. Thank You in advance, Dan.

Hello,

The problem is from the memory of the of the printer. The printer is still sensing the old print-head and not recognizing that a new one is inserted. The printer needs a soft of reset in other to refresh or clear it's memory.

Try this;

RESET

1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
2. Remove the cartridges from the printer.
3. Wait for the "Insert Cartridge" message to display on the control panel.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
5. Wait 60 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.
7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.

IF RESET DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS ASWELL:

Turn the printer off, remove and insert the cartridge. If problem persists, reinstall the printer in this form;

First, disconnect the printer cable from the computer. Go to Control panel on your computer, go to printer under control panel, right click on the printer models there and delete them. Make sure all printer installed under "Printer" is deleted.

Now go back to control panel, uninstall your printer software(s). Make sure you uninstall all software relating to the printer. After that restart your computer.

Once your computer has booted, re-install the printer afresh and the it should be in order.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, please let me know so that I can direct you further....

Good luck.

Hi

The printerhead is a different part from the ink cartridge HP 940XL which you replaced. you have not replaced the printerhead. --- it is not asking you to replace a ink cartridge.

this package contains both the black and yellow printer head

I appriciate the feedback, now if you really needed further information you had the ability to add a comment to ask. I would think the product comes with instructions if not you could ask me ofcourse. The printerhead is the part where the ink cartridges attach to the printer.

I have an hp officejet pro L7680 printer and am having trouble finding new 88xl cartridges for it. Will the 940xl cartridges work in this printer

Hi there,
You cannot install HP 940 Cartriges for Officejet Pro L7650 as they are not compatible and the mechanism is different for both the cartridges,
In your printer, the HP 88 fits on the left bottom corner of the printer and the HP 940 cartridges are mounted on the Printhead inside the printer on HP Officejet 6500 AIO.

I can not locate the HP 940 cartridge o the printer in order to replace it. Can you tell me where to look for the print cartridge?

Hi, no problem. Switch Off

As you look at the front of your printer to the left of the paper tray you will find the black facia is a drop down lid drops towards you revealing four cartridges.

Withdraw the cartridge in question note which way up and pull out at the same angle it is inserted.

Renewing, place the right way up and remembering angle gently insert new cartridge with a firm hand and you will feel a slight click as it locates.

After thought, please remember when ordering replacement to mention/make sure it is the wireless replacement, the 8500 (Non Wireless Printer) cartridge is not compatible.

Hello there, might I suggest downloading and installing the latest drivers for your HP Printer. It is all explained in my published guide entitled How to Install the latest drivers for Hewlett Packard Printer!!!

This may work, it may not work but it's worth a shot ey!

By installing the latest drivers we eliminate the possibility of a software bug.
Also if it is possible try install this printer on a friends computer/laptop. Another option is to try to clear the memory of this printer. Consult the manual of this printer.

A last resort would be to update the firmware of this printer, However when doing this be sure to install the correct firmware for your specific printer. Check the HP website.
Use cables to connect to this printer until you can get it working again, maybe the signal is corrupted if you use its wireless function! Just a thought!

Thanking you

HP officejet pro 8500 ink cartridge problem

Changing a printer cartridge is not complex but improper handling of the parts may damage the printer and the cartridge. If the user notices that while printing the ink comes out dry or faded, it may be time to change the ink or the toner. The user will know if it is time to change the toner because instead of a sharp image, one will get a faded image. It is time to change the ink cartridge when the printing comes out spotty or colors are used to replace others —for instance, blue for black or yellow for red. Remember, faded images signal the need to change the toner; spotty printing signals the need to change the ink cartridge get more help for change cartridge .
Hope this helps you.
