Hello,
Symptons like these usually are due to corrupted data file that is why you Operating System is not loading correctly. Normally an OS reinstallation is the fix. You can shut down the computer and press the OKR button next to the power with an arched arrow sign from the computer turned off and it will restore the system to the default, however everything is gonna be wiped out but guaranteed you system will be error free.
Cheers!

Acer M1100 is stuck in power save mode

Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
if this fails to fix the problem

During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer

you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell what file has been corrupted or missing you might be able to work your way through problem if you are unable to find a solution

restart back into safe mode you might need to select your operating system to load into safe mode

click start control panel administration tools computer management in the left panel events + to expand then system you will see all errors in right panel right click select properties this will tell you what has occurred and the time it occurred

you might use the system restore to restore your system to an earlier time
click start all programs accessories system tools you should see your system restore option

hope this helps

Lenovo Y410, It does not boot. Throws error: There was problem in staring windows due to some error. How do I get to start windows in safe mode?

Welcome to FixYa

It seems that you are having problems booting to windows. There are a number of steps you can try to fix this issue.

1. boot to safe mode. Start tapping F8 right after the computer turns on. This would cause the system to boot to windows advanced boot menu. Once you see the advanced boot menu then just choose safe mode. If you managed to boot to safe mode then you can perform system restore from here. To run system restore just click on start, all programs, system tools, then click on system restore, once system restore has been launced choose a date when the computer was working fine

2. You can also try to boot to windows recovery environment. to do this keep tapping F8 right after the computer turns on. choose the option "repair my computer". The system would now boot to windows recovery environment. From here you can run startup repair and system restore

3. If none of the above steps work then you can use the One Key Recovery feature of a lenovo Y410. Please note that this would reset your computer to its factory image so this would cause you to LOSE DATA on the system. Before you use this feature make sure that you have a back up of all of you data. Note that the computer must be turned off. Press the NOVO button on the computer. refer to the image for its location on your computer

Pressing this button while the computer is off would launch the one key recovery of lenovo. From here you can restore the system to its factory condition.

Hope this helps

Hey peeps. Having a rather unusual problem, I think, or maybe I'm just ignorant computer-wise :) My laptop (Lenovo G550 running Windows 7), turns dark after I log in. The screen shows as it did up...

Welcome to Fixya

This problem usually caused by windows profile got corrupted due to recent software installation or plain windows bug. Try to boot up the computer to safe mode by pressing F8 key when you turn on the computer. Once you are inside windows safe mode. Click start menu then go to all programs. Click accessories then go to system tools. Select system restore then select a date where you remember the computer is working fine then restore the machine to that date. Wait until the computer will say to you to restart the machine. Once you restarted the machine, check the problem if you still getting it.

Please reply to this email for any questions.

My sony vaio VGN-CS22GH laptop shuts doen by itself randomly. Please help

The issue may be due to any recent hardwrae or software changes and also due to any virus.
1. Remove any recently added hardware/software.
2. Try to boot the computer in safe mode. Press F8 button soon after restarting the computer to enter the advance boot option and select safe mode to boot computer in safe mode.
3. If issue persists even in safe mode, perform a system restore to an earlier time or date when the computer was working as expected. Performing system restore will not delete any data from the computer.
4. Reset BIOS to default values. (Press the F2 key after restarting the computer to enter and access BIOS).
5. Press F3 and F4 keys to reset the BIOS. or press the right arrow key until you reach the exit menu, then select the load BIOS default option.
6. Then, select the Yes option when promted, save the settings and select yes option. restart computer and check.
7. If still persists, perform a system recovery using the VAIO Care Software or the F10 recovery partition.
Note: ensure to backup any important data before perfoming system recovery. System recovery will erase all the data presnt in the computer.

My computer restarts continuously

From another computer, download Glary Utilities and save the installation on a flash drive. Boot your system into safe mode by pressing F8 before you see the Windows Starting screen (while still seeing black), use arrow keys to choose "Safe Mode". Once it's booted into Safe Mode, install Glary Utilities and do the one button fix. That may solve the problem. I suspect you have a virus. Alternatively, once in Safe Mode, do a system restore (Clicking: Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore), and pick a date to restore to the is before the date the problem appeared. Get a good AV program like AVG (free.grisoft.com)
