That series of guitar amp was manufactured at some point during the early to mid-1980s.

I've seen a bunch of Marshall Combos and a very common failure comes from broken resistor legs at pre-amp and power amp modules insides, they are the low-value/2-3W rated and the soldered legs broke so easy because of enclosure vibrations, let me know a bit more to improve help...

Where is the serial no. on a mhz40c

The serial number for this will be on a sticker on the back. If it is missing then perhaps someone removed it. You may be able to contact Marshal and they may be able to tell you as well. http://www.marshallamps.com/

Hiwhat is the best way to connect my DigiTech RP10 to my Marshall MA100H Guitar Amplifier

Read your manuals for both pieces of gear carefully first. You only have one amp so you won't be able to take advantage of all the FX on the Digitech as a lot of them are designed for stereo. The Digitech manual shows guitar into the Digitech and output from the Digitech into input of any guitar amp. Since you have a Marshall and can already get some great sounds by running your guitar straight into the Marshalls input, you would probably be better off using your Digitech in the FX loop. Run a guitar cord out of the send on the loop into the input of the Digitech and a guitar cord out of the left / mono output jack on the Digitech into the effects return jack on the Marshall. Start out with the effects level on the Marshall all the way down. Do the same with the Digitech with both the input and output levels. (Read the manual carefully) I think the choice of the Digitech isn't that great because it is already trying to reproduce a lot of what you can already get with just your Marshall but with a little experimentation and some careful adjustments you should be able to add to the sound of the Marshall. Hope this helps.

Behind the amp, right around where the power-supply is. Usually the right hand side at back of amp. Serial numbers are labeled as: S/N########

Problem with marshall dfx250 just recently the volume on my amp is dropping and increasing at random, love the amp but needs fixed any ideas??

If you have no experience with amp repairs you are better off having it serviced. This problem seems to be related to bad solder joints in the FDD circuit exacerbated by the cooling fan aging and wearing out. Namely R107 and R96.

Guitar amp shows power but has no sound, could it be a blown fuse

Nine times out of ten, any problem with an amp having no sound coming out, it's a wiring issue. Make sure all of the wires internal to the amp are propely hooked up. Also, try switching out the quarter inch cord you are using from your guitar to your amp. Could be a bad cable. Unless you have blown the speaker completely, something is loose or not hooked up properly.
