SOURCE: I have the HP w2338h monitor. when i listen to

Hello,

I know this post is kinda old and dead, But the solution to this problem in some cases is with the color balance in the screen. If you can rush this before the screen turns off you can try this. Turn on the monitor go into the menu and adjust the brightness all the way to 100% you will notice the humming will stop, if it still shuts off try going down to 0% (0% worked for me I now use this monitor as a xbox / ps3 screen.

Hi,Dear User...
I think you screen goes to damage. Please follow instruction
1> Monitor power come or not.
2> Monitor cable is ok.
3> Open it up and check that all the fans are working, and that
there are no dustbunnies floating around.

4> If the graphics card has a fan, be extra attentive. Check it

No input signal message and screen goes black

Check your video cable going from your monitor to the pc. If your trying to use more than 1 monitor, is your video card capable of using more than 1? Are you using the mother board video card or a store bought one?

My HP w2338h has a series of different colore bands on the right side of the screen. What is the cause and can I repair it myself

Is the picture still visible? If it is yes you just need to factory reset the monitor. If not, check your inverter.

W2338h goes black after 2 seconds. Can I fix it myself?

If this is due to the capacitors failing, I'd advise not, unless you are competent in identifying and testing these. My advice is to take it to a reapair shop

I have a HP w2338h monitor that goes blank

It is most likely a bad power supply... I have had aboit 4 diff monitors do this to me... most common is under rated capacitors in the internal power supply... some times there could be a black light going out witch causes higher current draw on the power supply ( witch can take out the caps, fusses, transformers ( caps and transformers when they get week and bad can cause the buzzing sound ( on some times with a radio near buy then the monitor is acting up with blanking out and buzzine the radio will pop and buzz as well witch is a sign that there is arching going on IE. caps and transformer are most common for that )))

hope this info helps

I have a HP w2338h that has started buzzing loudly and the screen will go blank quite frequently. I have to power on/off and also move my mouse and type on the keyboard to get the screen to display again

You may have failing components in the power supply.
Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, falied inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.
