The plastic drive gear is striped.I need to find a gear to replace it.

Window dosen't go up. Motor and regulator work well.


the gears are made of plastic inside the houseing so if you can here the motor running, the gears are most likely striped and the window motor needs to be replaced

Yes they do use plastic in them. after time they wear out and cold weather will finish them off. You will have to replace the motor.

yes you can replace the gear or drive cable, look to see that your heads drive is not striped, that normally the problem, You will probably have to order this from Black&Decker online.

my suggestion is that watever spare part u replace, get it replaced by the original manufacturer to avoid future problems. take it to the shop you have bought it from, ask them where u can get one. they may help u better with contacting the manufacturer. i know its time consuming! good luck!!

NEED A REPLACEMENT PLASTIC GEAR THAT DRIVES THE UNIT


This Shredder is an Aurora AS650C Rebranded for Walmart as Durabrand. You can call Aurora at 800-327-8508 8-5 PST and tell them that you need one of the plastic gears for the WM6X Durabrand, they know exactly what your talking about, and will offer you two gears. The one that is in contact with the drive motor is gear "A" and the Plastc reduction gear that drives the steel gears is gear "B" Hope this helps
