Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Every time I put my camera's SD card into my HP Printer C3150, a red exclamation mark light blinks on and off, and the SD card does not appear on "My Computer," so I can't access my pictures. What should I do? My SD card's brand is PNY Optima SD 4 HC 60 mn HD 4GB, and it fits into the SD/MMC/MS/XD Slot in my HP Printer just fine, so I don't know whats wrong. Thank you for your time.

I am not an expert on such matters. It is possible the printer won't read the SD card because it wasn't formatted before use or was formatted by a computer using 64 bit software instead of 32 bit.

You could try using a card reader and downloading the images to your computer and printing from there.

Well SD max is 2gb, so you can get 2gb if you want.

SDHC max is 32gb. If you are not on a budget, try upgrading your printer to a newer model.

SDHC is coming out with even newer models, now with a class 10 (10mb read/write speed - but very costly).

However, if it doesn't matter to you, might as well just stick with the same printer, since SD cards are coming down in price. Just make sure you get 2gb cards with a good class speed.

Try putting a tiny piece of scotch tape over the lock slider. See if that works.

SOURCE: i'm useing the pny optima sd/hc 60 hd 4gb scan

I had same problem. Neither computer nor printer would recognize the SDcard. I took the card to Walgreen's and the card was read just fine. I suspect that we are running XP and do not have the right driver; but I can't seem to find the right driver. Morgen

It sounds like you ink cartridge is electrically bad; you can run the diagnostic 'tap 41' test to confirm. The HP 31xx printer 'access procedure' will be very similar to this HP Fxxx series access procedure:

hi CMlerma,

any time you see a "0x..." message, its referring to memory problems and there are many, many reasons this may appear. here are a couple support links from HP's site that might be helpful.

this one is specific to memory errors:

Problem getting HP Photosmart to recognize digital camera memory card

From what read of the specs, the C6100 does not support SDHC cards, only SD cards. SD cards top out at 2GB; what you have is technically an SDHC (High Capacity) card, which does not work in SD devices.
