Question about Panasonic DVD-RV32 DVD Player

1 Answer

We were playing a DVD in our player and it suddenly stopped and we have a code H07 which we have tried to clear per instructions in troubleshooting guide to no avail. We tried to clean by blowing dirt out as DVD cleaner can't be run. The guide says to contact someone when we get an H code. DVD is nearly 10 years old but up to now has given us no problems at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Gloria Huerta

H07 is a typical failure of the spindle motor/laser assembly, better known as the traverse unit. Unfortunately, this component is not repairable, and neither the laser nor the motor are replaceable separately; it must be replaced as ONE UNIT. The problem with this is the likely cost(s) involved, including the traverse unit itself plus fitting/alignment etc. by a qualified technician in an authorised repair centre, which may make this unit uneconomical to fix as it is not a DVD recorder.

You can always submit the unit to a workshop for a more logical quote on the overall service/repair costs, get a second opinion while you're there, then you can make a decision afterwards; either you can accept the quote and get it fixed, or cut your losses and buy a new player (which may be cheaper and easier) - up to you.

Being as the player is close to 10 years old, I would say it has reached its cutoff point (the fact that it has lasted you as long as it has up to now says something positive about it). If you choose to pursue repairs/parts for this one, be warned it could be an expensive exercise with a minimal guarantee of reliability.

Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do from here.

When trying to play a dvd , it shows H07

Traverse unit (spindle motor & laser assembly combined) is most likely faulty. The motor part usually fails first, which stops the discs from spinning, so the inbuilt laser cannot read them, hence the error code. This can be expensive to replace.

DVD stops spinning displays code H07. Repair procedure?

H07 is the error code for Disk not Spinning. Open the case, open the DVD rack. Put 2 drops of 3-in-1 Oil on a Q-tip and rub the side of the spindle (located under the optical "eye"). Don't drip! Then close the DVD-rack with a DVD in it. Work the DVD in clockwise direction. Hopefully it will start to spin again.

hope this helps

You can try to clean the laser by opening the unit and wiping gently with a cue tip or cotton swab, but if you are getting a H07 errorit may be somethng more serious and require a replacementof the dvd drive.I hope this helps. Good luck.

Error code h07

HELLO
I have just recently posted a cure for this - but here we go again. Fault H07 is the fault code for the spindle/disc motor and to cure it do this!
With the lid of the player removed, locate the spindle and where the motor shaft goes into the motor itself, use a little light oil or WD40. Let it soak in a while and try it again - you should now find it works.
Why this works I just don't know - it just does! (:-)

H07 on panasonic

hey I just messed around with mine it was showing that code H07 like the others its kinds the same except it holds 4 more disc, I took the top off then I took the thing that holds cd still off!, there should be a brass thing I think thats for the ground, so I ended up putting some synthetic oil on the rails silver poles that the laser slides on, and where the disc sits on that black circle under it, you can see the motor it has a white thing on the motores pole so I just put a few drops on there then spinds it put some more on hoping it works its way DOWN INTO THE MOTOR thats the H07 not spining fast enough!! I put a disk in while everything was apart and its playing right now, the oil I desided to use was the stuff I use for my paintball gun lol! its really thin and slippory and im sure it will last for awhile!.... going to add more after 15 minutes of playing just to make sure its really lubed! hope this helps!!!!

Troubleshooting -- Displays H07 code

While stopped, press and hold REWIND and PAUSE on the unit and then also press and hold OPEN/CLOSE on the unit until Initialized appears from the display. Turn the unit off and on again. If it is still not working, Panasonic Consumer Support recommends having the product checked by an authorized Panasonic service center.
