I have just installed drivers for 1200CU scanner but have two problems. First I need to restart scanner for very scan and get horizontal or vertical parallel lines on finshed photo

    Thanks. I have already installed the drivers you suggested and also tried the Packard Bell Diamond 1200plus drivers (it is a PBD+) which brought up a new set of problems in as much as theer were more options on an improved desk top tool but, although it informed me that all was working, didn't pick up the scanner. So I reinstalled the pack you suggested and will have to accept your first solution. Margaret.

The lines you encounter can be caused by 2 factors:
1 - hardware fault: the control processor from the scanned is failing and can no longer correctly buffer the raw data from the scanning sensor so the data it sends to the pc gets corrupted, hence the lines. - this can also cause the restart problems . If this is the case then the scanner is effectively dead - it cannot be repaired. The origin of the failure is most likely a static spark that occured when you have inserted the USB cable.
2 - software fault: the driver hasn't been the correct one, or it was corrupted, or it was a bad install. Download a new one from the official site

uninstall the present one, reboot and install the new one.

Scanner gets stuck


its a known problem. check usb conection. switch usb port, dont go through hub.
