    Hi Kevin,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I think you may have identified the problem. I have a question:

I am looking at a plate (part#28 on the diagram you sent). There are two square rubber pieces (part #6). Do I need to peel those off to get the plate off and get at the switch? Also: What tool would you use to get the tiny hex-head bolts out?

    Thanks for your help.

A screwdriver won't work -- There are no slots in the hex-head bolts. They look like 1mm or 2mm heads -- I don't have a socket that small and was hoping the specs will tell me what sized socket I need to buy....or that there's some other tool I don't know about.

Use a meter to test the water valve solenoid coils, make sure nobody turned the supply hoses off without you knowing. Did you recently replace the fill hoses or have work done on the machine? Maytag Washer Dryer Combo Water Inlet Valve WP22001274

Unplug the washer, if the issue continues, you have a faulty inlet water valve. What happens is particulate matter gets in and the valve jambs. If you have a new unit, the repair should be for free.

The only case where I could see water going in, is if it was requested, by user input....But front loaders use tons less water......

Why do the stackable washers always overflow with water. Is it a sensor problem or what?

Overflowing can be caused by a faulty pressure switch or tube from switch to the tub. It is operated by air pressure from water filling in the tub. If this does not activate then the inlet valve will continue to allow water to enter the machine. If it is overflowing during spin only it is most likely something obstructing the pump. If it is filling the tub even when the machine is off the problem is the inlet valve.

I have a stackable Maytag. The water will not

I had a similar problem I just fixed. There is a fuse inside that keeps the water from filling if it's blown. Might try changing that first.

When washer fills it does not stop unless done manually

HI, i recommend testing the timer/control device for faults. make sure it is spinning and not shorted. if the timer/control device is in good condition, this will confirm a serious fault in the water valve assembly(inlet). replace this device in this case.

Water problem with stackable Maytag Neptune

You have to make sure your self if water is getting through the hoses first.Remove the hot& cold hoses on the back of unit.Make sure there isn't a clog in side of the water valve screens ,if so clean them.Still not filling?Possibly a blown fuse.

Maytag Neptune Stackable washer continues to fill with water when unit is off

If the machine continues to fill even after the power has been switched off, this sounds like a stuck inlet valve. To identify the valve, look at your model in the "parts store" section of Maytag's website. The valve is item 21 on the "Control Panel, Top & Lid" drawing. From the drawing, the valve looks like a fairly standard item; I suspect you might get something suitable a bit cheaper elsewhere. A
