Check the fuse. If it has blown, do NOT replace it without taking for service first. Additional damage often occurs when users replace fuses that have blown due to internal failures in equipment.

Also check that the power cord is fully seated... sometimes they don't quite make it...

This isn't your model BUT it is likely so similar as to be close enough to work a power supply problem.

These companies don't change designs very much between different models.

This is probably close to your unit:

Scroll down to "get Manual" and click on it. Circuitry is so simple... they don't show the transformer, only the rectifier and regulators.

The resistor is acting as a fuse and will continue to blow until you fix the REAL problem. LIKELY the filter capacitor(s) beyond the bridge rectifier are failing. One needs to use test equipment to measure the current through the resistor and see if it is reasonable. The capacitors can heal briefly and then start to short. One should also check the rectifier in operation with an oscilloscope as one diode could intermittently short.

AMPLIFIER CUTTING OUT WHEN SOUNDCRAFT EFX8 GOES INTO HIGH LEVELS

Hi Terence!
Check your Amp Frequency Ratings and also your power supply.
Increase the high levels gradually until cut-off.
Try reducing your output level at the EQ to match the Input Level at the AMP. What Brand & Model Amp is it plugged into?

Here is a link to EQ manual of operation.
Good Luck,

Can I connect a Soundcraft Efx12 to a speaker without using an amplifier?

Yes, but it could be pointless.
Headphones are just small speakers so it is usually possible to drive a small pair of "computer/iPod" type speakers from the headphone output.
True balanced outputs should have a fair amount of drive so try connecting a speaker between pins 2 and 3. The higher the impedance of the speakers the better.
Ultimately, the results will be very quiet and the cost of a small amp or powered speakers for low level use is quite reasonable.

The right channel on the headphone out does not work

Do the headphones you are using have a stereo plug. I find most times people are using a mono adapter plug of some sort..It needs to be a stereo plug. If it is, then contact this site and they can help with the proper parts to repair http://www.prosoundservice.com/

Good luck. Your mixer only has one aux out to supply only one stage monitor out. Only way to make it work would be to use the panning controls of each channel to different outputs to the Left and Right main outs for stage monitors and aux out as front of house speakers. I would get another separate mixer for monitor such as another efx 12 with every input connected to both mixers, then use the panning and main outputs to that. Sorry. Just not enough of mixer. You need an aux out for each individual's monitor.

My Behringer PMX (or PMH?) 3000 powered mixer won't power on

Hi Robert,
The problem with ceramic fuses is that you can't tell if it's blown unless you put a meter on both ends to check for continuity. You probably have a friend that has a multi-meter sitting in a drawer somewhere, or a trip to the local Radio Shack will tell you right away - as well as likely finding the correct value fuse. Replacing it with a ceramic is not as critical as matching the AMPERAGE of the fuse (the Behringer site might be helpful: http://www.behringer.com/EN/Support/Find-Answers-or-Ask-Behringer.aspx
And no, the fuse didn't die on it's own, but are most prone to failure at turn on - so this time when you plugged it in after 3 years - it was time to go.

Hi ihve soundcraft efx12 & the problem is in the effect, it hanges if i use the program selector, all the leds related to lexicon effects lit up.ithink the problem is in the the lexicon card. please...

If the LED's are level indicators, you are probably saturating the input of the effect and may cause it to hang. Effects use delay and feedback and can cause numerical overflow and the system to basically crash. I would first call the Lexicon support and ask them about this problem... I did have to return one Lexicon product myself for service under warranty.

Hi - when I power on teh board the speakers start clicking - at first it was a very loud popping sound but now it is just a semi loud clicking but it is constant

Make sure you use BALANCED interconnection cables and the board is powered from the SAME receptacle or source as the speaker/amp.

This board is very simple and if the source of the noise is in the unit, I would look to a problem involving the Phantom power supply. The Phantom connects to the mic inputs and if it gets noisy it will often couple into the inputs.

Unplug ALL inputs to verify it is not coming in via the mics. Does the main fader control the loudness?

Here might be your schematic:
