it looks like a Smurf barfed mid-screen...blue dots everywhere. TV was fine before we moved it into bedroom, was not dropped, shaken, nor stirred.

Your TV is " LCD Projection " model and problem seems to be in " Optics Unit Block "(in easy words, its LCD block). Contact Sony service for replacement of part.

This is a Light Engine problem. Call a good TV Tech and explain the problem. These can be rebuilt for around $450. New ones are $800 to $1200.

TV shows large red spot in middle of tv when dark show are on, you can see it more.  Now blue spots on upper right side too.  Spend way to much on this tv to have these kinds of problems only after 3 yrs.

Blue spot in tv

The blue spot on this is dust on the blue lcd lens. You can not get this off of your lens and you would need to replace the optical engine. Part for this is about 800 dollars and that particular set has to be dismantled from the front. It is a optical engine that takes a little while to do 1+hour and I do these repairs all of the time.

Good luck on your decision
