Video Card Problem

I have just bought a ati radeon x1600 pro agp card. When I plug it in and turn on the computer, all I get is a screen with bars of pixels in different colors. I have asked the ati people for help and they just told me to update my bios. I have done that but it still doesn't work. Please help.

I found out that I was missing a cord to plug into the video card. I found the cord and plugged it in and now the card works. But now when I play a game, there are some pixels that are out of color and around the mouse they are out of color too. Any idea what is causing that?

If you are sure your computer is running smoothly with the video card, check if the pins of the vga cable from your monitor is in good shape.

Having trouble finding out exactly which Graphics card will work in your AGP8X motherboard? The following list displays all the compatible Graphics cards for an AGP8X motherboard in decending order (Top Graphics cards are faster than bottom ones in each catagory)

Suitable agp for playing gta 4

The AGP slot on this system is 4X

The two cards that were tested on this from Dell are
ATI 64MB Radeon VE 7500 ATI 32MB Radeon
The maximum card you can connect to the system any PCI video card not more than 128 MB. As the motherboard and the power supply would not support it

Thanks

Hello,

I would recommend Nvidia graphics card.
It is one of the best, and compatible with your computer.
I would recommend one of the most recent models.
Check with your local computer shops and they will assist you in getting a good recent model.

Thank you for using Fixya,
Kenneth.
