Welcome to FixYa!

As I understand it, you are building a website in Publisher Pro and trying to link pages using it's hyperlink tool which does not work or respond.

Here are a few suggestions:

FREE SOME MEMORY
Save your work, close all programs and restart your computer.
After restart, run Publisher Pro only. Do not open any other applications. Open a new document and use the hyperlink tool. If it will work in the new document, it should work with your project.

HARD CODE THE HYPERLINK

  • Point your cursor to the intended hyperlink text.
  • Look for the option in Publisher Pro that will let you view the current page in HTML format.
  • View the current page in HTML format. The cursor will usually stay where you point it but this time you are viewing in HTML format.
The code for linking is:
this-is-the-filename-of-the-next-page.html">This is the hyperlink text that will appear on your page

The above example will appear as:
This is the hyperlink text that will appear on your page

Once you click on it, it will open the page with the filename this-is-the-filename-of-the-next-page.html

REINSTALL Publisher Pro
If you still have the installer CD and the license key, reinstall it.
Make sure that you save your project outside the Publisher Pro directory and all of the documents that are attached to your project are saved as well.

I hope this helps.
Thank you for using FixYa and keep me posted.

What is text links SEO?

This is correct in spite of image labels receiving the ALT feature accessible. The actual ALT feature may consist of key phrases, however, because of the key word padding now they tend to be practically useless. (You ought to be making use of your ALT characteristics with regard to functionality as well as ease of access and never SEO anyway).

The file format is not supported

Hi driddle00...
This information came from the Microsoft WebPage:

"Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported. This behavior occurs because PowerPoint can play back only QuickTime movies (.mov and .qt files) that use compression schemes with corresponding Media Control Interface (MCI)-compatible codecs.

A codec (compressor/decompressor) is an algorithm or scheme that is used to record digital video or audio. For example, when you transmit video over the Internet, the video must be compressed on the sending end and decompressed on the receiving end. A codec can be chosen based upon the user's audio or image quality and image size preferences.

When you read a QuickTime movie, a Video for Windows decompressor decompresses the QuickTime files. If the decompressor does not support the compression method used by the QuickTime movie, the decompressor cannot display the movie on the screen.
To work around this behavior, use one of the following methods. uparrow.gifBack to the top Method 1: Create a hyperlink to the .mov file loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); Create a hyperlink to the .mov file, and then let the QuickTime Player for Windows play the file instead. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Select the object or text that you want to assign the hyperlink to.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Hyperlink.
  3. Under Link to, click Existing File or Web Page.
  4. Select the QuickTime movie that you want to play, and then click OK.

Note Under Look in, click Current Folder to see a list of files, click Browsed Pages to see a list of recently viewed Web pages, or click Recent Files to see a list of recently used files.
During the slide show, click the linked object or text to play the movie. If a valid player is available, the player starts, and then the player plays the QuickTime movie. uparrow.gifBack to the top Method 2: Convert QuickTime movies to AVI format loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); Note In the following steps, you must use QuickTime 4.0 Pro. You cannot follow these steps with the basic version of QuickTime 4.0. The steps are the same for both Windows and Macintosh versions of QuickTime 4.0.

You can use other QuickTime editing programs instead of QuickTime 4.0 Pro. To do this, see the QuickTime documentation for the relevant steps.

To convert the QuickTime movies to AVI format, follow these steps:
  1. Start QuickTime Pro, and then open the file that you want to convert.
  2. On the File menu, click Export.
  3. Set the Export file type to Movie to AVI.
  4. Click Options, and then click Settings.
  5. In the Compressor group, click the list of compressors, and then select one from the previous list. Cinepak is a popular format. Select the format that you think works best with the movie.
  6. Make sure that you change the extension on the file name to .avi, and then click Save.
uparrow.gifBack to the top Method 3: Recompress the QuickTime movies with compatible codec loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); Note In the following steps, you must use QuickTime 4.0 Pro.

To recompress the QuickTime movies with compatible codec, follow these steps:
  1. Start QuickTime Pro, and then open the file that you want to convert.
  2. On the File menu, click Export.
  3. Set the Export file type to Movie to QuickTime Movie.
  4. Click Options, and then click Settings.
  5. In the Compressor group, click the list of compressors, and then select one from the previous list. Cinepak is a popular format. Select the format that you think works best with the movie.
  6. Click Save.
uparrow.gifBack to the top Verify that QuickTime movies are compatibleYou can use Microsoft Media Player to... loadTOCNode(1, 'moreinformation'); Verify that QuickTime movies are compatible loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); You can use Microsoft Media Player to verify that a QuickTime movie is compatible with PowerPoint.

Note Microsoft Media Player (Mplayer.exe or Mplay32.exe) is a different program than Windows Media Player. Microsoft Media Player is included with various versions of the Windows operating systems, and is an MCI-compliant device. Windows Media Player, however, is a new technology that does not rely on MCI to play various forms of media. Windows Media Player can play a wider range of video and audio formats than Microsoft Media Player can play.

To determine the compatibility of the movie, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type the appropriate command for your operating system:
    • In Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition, type mplayer.exe, and then click OK.
    • In Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000, or Microsoft Windows XP, type mplay32.exe, and then click OK.
    Microsoft Media Player starts.
  3. On the File menu, click Open.
  4. Select the QuickTime movie that you want to verify. Click Open.
If the QuickTime movie is compatible, Microsoft Media Player opens the movie. If Microsoft Media Player opens the movie, but PowerPoint does not, there may be a problem with PowerPoint or with the MCI settings. If Microsoft Media Player does not open the movie, and then you receive an error message in Media Player, the movie is not compatible and cannot be played in PowerPoint. You may be able to make the movie compatible by using one of the methods described in the WORKAROUND section of this article."

I GET A 1554 ERROR WHEN i AM TRYING TO LAUNCH PAINT SHOP PRO PHOTO X2

Photo Explosion 4.0 is compatible with Windows 7. but not your version unfortunately.
you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.
Use the following steps:
1) Right click on the Program
2) Click on Properties
3) Click on Compatibility tab
4) Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever operating system the program was running successfully.
If the compatibility is not successful, then try and run the Program Compatibility troubleshooter:

1. Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking the Start button.
Then click Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.
2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.
If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

I am in the middle of making a 30 page book on my Art Explosion Publisher Pro. Now that I am done, I can't publish it as a PDF. It gets 90% of the way there and then says.. "out of memory." Is there a way...

If are ale to print it from Art Explosion without memory problems, this might do the trick.

Download the freeware tool PDF Creator (see link)
PDF creator will create a virtual printer (PDF creator) on your computer.
Printing your 30 pages to this printer and saving the PDF instead of printing, it can do the trick.
PDF creator can also be used from every program with printing options.
Installing PDF ceator will gve you a versatile pdf creation tool.

I've published my web pages but all of the links don't work. they are there when I'm in publisher but just don't work when I publish?

Did you hyperlink them? where is this web page published? I would say that if the code was not uploaded correctly or if they were not hyper-linked properly that could be causing your problem.

Is it possible to install / import old PrintMaster 7.0 Art Discs?

When you put the Program install disk in follow the prompt but instead of selecting the "Typical" instalation select "Custom". This way the install will instruct you to select the two or one or none Art cd.s. I assume your copy of Printmast 17 Platinum has all 4 cd's?.If not then you will only have installed about clip 950 art etc. instead of 19,000 plus when you install the Art disk 1&2.
The only drawback is that the two art disc's add another 1gb to the hard drive usage.
I hope this helps.
