My frigidaire microwave fan turned on by it self. Won't turn off. Blowing air above Microwave

Try unplugging it for a few seconds or turning off the circut breaker to it. This usually resets the unit.

Seeking to purchase Goldstar MV-1304W/B - need microwaave 24" or less with vent for over stove. Is it still available or is there another model that will work?

There may be a General Electric model that is essentially the same with a different label. Other brands will work, although you will probably have to change the mounting bracket. They are not as likely to have problems with the magnetron's magnet losing field strength, as was the case with some Goldstar/GE wall-mount units from the 1990's.

Need to install goldstar mv1515b otr microwave but do not have mounting kit. Where to buy? what does it look like? can i make a mount for it?

you can not get a plate . only plate that mounts it is the one that came with it . now I did this with my own sharp and this wil work with any . cut the wall benind same size of micro / this will let you slide it into the wall almost 3 in . giving you more room to cook and work on range top. she loved this . then attach the front by the bolts from the top or screw/s to the side of both .. makes a neet install ..****/ feed back pls .. dont forget the power goes in the top ,,

WE have a Hotpoint Microwave mounted over the stove and it is not vented to the ouside! It's model #RVM 1435! Can it be vented outside?

yes,
you will need to tzke the unit down
look on the back upper middle
you will see your vent fan
open the cover
pull the fan up
and rotate it 90 degrees, but you will need to install a vent for it
you can also turn it 180 degrees if you on an outside wall and the ven is directly behind the machine

Remove a whirlpool over the range microwave oven

Jim here. In cabinet above microwave, locate 2 mounting bolts.
Place a box on the stove top to support the microwave once the mounting bolts are removed (you may wish to cover the box with a thick towel or small throw rug).
Procedure:
1. Unplug microwave.
2. Remove both mounting bolts from top of microwave (they secure it to the overhead cabinet).
3. With microwave front angled down onto box, pull some of power cord out of hole (to provide some moving space).
4. With microwave hand supported, remove box from stove top (a second set of hands would be helpful here).
5. HARD PART- detach top of microwave back from wall mounting plate by placing a hand under the bottom rear of the microwave and pushing up. (Wall mounting plate is screwed into the wall behind the microwave and provides both top and bottom support to the back of the microwave.)
6. Lower front of microwave until you can see about a 1-inch clearance between the top-rear of the microwave and the cabinet above it.
7. Firmly lift the microwave straight up and then bring forward. It should be free of the wall mounting plate.

How do I remove an old wall mounted Microwave.

I just removed mine this morning and was having the same problem, though mine did have the screws above going into the unit. You may have to pop the front vent cover off to locate the screws going to the wall bracket, if so remove those. Also, there are 2 tabs on the bottom of the wall bracket that the back bottom edge of the microwave slip into, keeping the microwave from being pulled forward. Tilt the microwave slightly forward and push the bottom back edge of the microwave up to clear the tabs. Hope this helps.

Light bulb for Goldstar MV1526w

Your best bet is to remove the old one and match it up at the store.

You can usually find them at local appliance parts stores, home centers and home improvement stores, as well as places like Wal-Mart.

Many models use a halogen lamp. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

If you'd rather order it first, call Goldstar / LG at 1-800-243-0000 (M-F, 7am-8pm CT, Sat 8-5 CT) and choose the appropriate prompt from the menu or visit http://www.lgservice.com.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Removing Old Built-In Microwave

You did not note your Make and Model. As there are many different types, all I can give you are basic directions.
First make sure the Power Cord is UN-PLUGGED from the wall.

1. Remove the Top Vent Grille Cover. There are screws holding this on, either Three you can see (one on each side and one in the center), or Open the Door and look for screws at the top of the Frame that go Up Into the grille.
2. Look in cabinet above unit for screws that hold unit up. Usually two (one on each side, front), can be more. Remove.
3. Look where Top Vent Grille Cover was removed. There should be a Long Screw or Screw-Type Lock at each( top) corner. These hold the unit tight on the Wall-Mount Plate. Remove. You should have HELP at this point as you will slide the unit forward until it comes clear of the Support Arms.
GOOD LUCK!!

Microwave no power

Check the internal fuse. Unplug it, unscrew and take off the cover, the fuse should be easily found in the back by the power cord. I tlooks like a regular fuse but is white instead of clear glass because microwave fuses are special. You'll have to measure it with a meter as a result and be sure to replace it with the same kind. (try finding them at radio shack) Hopefully there isn't something more serious also.
