Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WF000 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Horrible rumbling from back of drum. I have dissconnected all the pipes and power lead and removed the top. When i spin the drum by hand there is a horrible rumbling from what seems to be the back where the big pully wheel is connected. Are there bearings that wear out? Is it an easy repaire to replace these if there is? i just like an idea before i go out and buy a new one. Many thanks for any help Roy

Roy, it sounds like the bearings are completly worn out. Its not an easy repair and if you decide to repair it leave it to the service tech.

to fix this properly a full new back section and shaft is needed which can be pricey but if your machine is under 5 years aprox £100 will fix it through the hotpoint parts warenty.

if over 5years aprox £140 will fix it again through hotpoint.

hope this helps you out

LG dryer Model DLE3777W Very loud & rumbling, Drying times longer and not spinning as fast

Loud and rumbling usually means that at least one of the drum support rollers is not turning freely. It is a bit of work to replace them.
1. disconnect power to machine. 2. remove top by taking 3 phillips head screws out of back edge of top, then standing in front of machine, use palms of hands to sharply push top back about 2 inches and lift off. 4. remove control panel (you do not have to disconnect wires to it, just lay it on top of machine.) 5. remove screws at 4 and 8 O'clock positions behind door, screws along top edge of front panel, electrical plugs to light and door switch, and by tilting panel forward, the plug near the bottom for the sensor, allowing the front panel to be removed and set aside. 6. remove 2 phillips head screws from each side of drum support, allowing support to be lifted up about a half inch and removed, giving access to the front support rollers. 7. Release belt and remove drum to access rear drum rollers. 8. replace offending rollers and re-assemble.
I've skipped over a few minor steps which should be obvious as you go.

My dryer rumbles when it is spinning. But it also does not spin at times either. There is heat and when the tumbler does spin, the clothes come out very dry, so heating is not a problem. I'm just...

Ok you have a simple solution to repair your dryer if handy with simple tools. First purchase a belt for the drum and a roller for the belt tensioner. Sears will sell this in a kit form at any Sears store. The top of the dryer will have to come off then the front panel. The front section of the top will be needed to pry upward to remove upon when you remove the rear brackets on the back of the dryers top section. After removing the top, unplug all electrical connections. all should be diffenerent in shapes and sizes which is helpful to you.
The front panel may have screws on the sides that have to be removed.
Some models has a small secondary lower panel that simply pushes down and pulls out for removal
Now that the dryers drum is exposed you need to pull the straight drum out.
Now you will see the tensioner with the roller attached. The roiller you have on your will probably has a frozen bearing and a flat spot on the roller that causes the thumping noise when spinning. The belt has been stretched by the roller being uneven so long making the drum to stop when using you dryer.
Install the tensioner and weave the belt in through the tensioner and wrap it around the drums backside with a helper helping you
With some help you can slip it back in and reassemble this dryer.

Our Hotpoint WF321 1200 spin is just 3 years old and now makes a very loud noise when in use - both for the washing and spin cycles. is the drum loose / off balance? any help appareciated

Remove lower rear cover of washer, remove drive belt, and from the front spin drum by hand, if it feels rough, or is rumbling, or noisy, then the main drum bearings are failing.
This is a major repair!!!.

Spin the drum by hand, it make metal noise

Remove the rear lower panel of washer, and remove the drum belt.
From the front of the washer, spin the drum by hand, and if it feels rough or is rumbling, could be the drum bearings are going.
If there is something caught, it will make a completely different kind of noise, more like a catching or rubbing noise.
If no noise, then could be the motor that is casing the noise.
Hope this helps.

Aquarius WF540 sounds like bearings gone How do I take the top off to examine?

No need to remove the top.
Just spin the drum by hand from the front.
If it feels rough, or is rumbling, then the main drum bearings have failed.
There should be no noise at all.
Hope this helps.

Loud banging

Several possibilities for noise. check concrete balance wieghts at top and bottom of washer, make sure they are not loose.
Check drum restraint spring(s) are not broken.
Check suspension legs for wear.
Check for loose motor fixings.
Finally, remove drum belt, and spin drum by hand, tjhere should be noise from bearings, if it feels rough or is rumbling , then main bearings have failed.

How do i change my tumble dryer belt on a beko thanks

Just changed the belt on a Beko DRCS68W and its a real pig! Remove the top panel and loosen all screws on complete back panel having removed circlip holding the drum spline on to the back panel. You will also need to disconnect wires/leads on top right inside panel to give you more space. Once you have done this you should be able to ease away the back panel far enough to get the new belt around the drum and over the drum spline in the middle. Then the tricky bit - getting the belt tensioned on to the motor drive spline. I did this before securing the drum and back panel, which gives a bit more flexibility. I also used about 15ins of 15mm copper pipe to ease the belt down over the motor spline. Hard part was getting the back panel back lined up with the screw holes as the belt tension distorts the casing. Finally hit on the idea of lying the machine on its side so the weight of the drum is pulling away from the motor and helping to line up the screw holes. Two and a half hours later job done! I guess if I ever did another it would be a whole lot easier but still not the type of job I relish!
