Connect a pair of headphones to your telly and see if the sounds is correct at all volume levels.

This will at least tell if you if it is the audio processing or simply the speaker/amplifier section

I cant hear the tv

Hello drive2darim,

OK first check you converter box, Cable TV/ Satellite TV volume control and turn it up to 100%.

Then check the menu on your TV for audio settings and set them to there default settings. This should take care of this issue.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Color

see if there is a "default" option, if not set everything back to the middle, if the colors are still off you sure its not the convergence?
most big screens allow you to change "color temperature" it's like a default adjustment for 3 different brightness levels.... ie...COOL, WARM picture will show obvious changes in brightness

I have RT2280. Audio levels used to be 1-50, now

Sounds to me as if someone may have gotten into the menu to adjust the individual levels of each loudspeaker and cranked some of them way up. As to why the "main" volume level goes from1-20 now as apposed to 1-50, you got me there...

Is there a reset button or equivalent on the remote or the unit? Try that. Try unplugging the unit for 15 minutes...

Here's the owner's manual:

Audio volume level

Hi, I'm guessing your turning up the volume on the TV box to control the volume of your speakers. By doing this your only controling the audio strength coming out from the TV box.

What you should be doing is turning up the volume on your TV or amp feeding your speakers rather than the direrct TV box. The level of the speakers may have been reduced form last week (other people messing about with your equipment?) which is the reason why you have to turn it up to 30 rather than 10.

Another problem could be a loose audio connection from you direct TV box to your amp or TV. Have you tried a different source such as a DVD player, and does the sound on that seem alot quiter than before? If the volume of this is alot quiter also it could be a problem with your speakers.

Hope this helps.

No sound from my sharp aqous 37d4u. The sound was on, turned the tv off, turned it back on later and nothing. Unplugged it, reset it. still no sound.

Good Day;

You stated you have no sound after turning the TV off, and had reset it & still no sound. Well you did the right thing, but are you using a cable or sat. box? If so did you reset those or make those 'boxes' volume's were not turned down.

After resetting the entire system and checking for volume levels it sounds like the LCD may have a defective A/V (audio/ video) board that is really easy to replace. 90% of your audio circuit is on that board.

Good Luck; Big I.

Try resetting the TV. Here's how to do it - Unplug the TV's power cable. Keep the Channel Down and Volume Up buttons on the TV pressed and plug the power cable back into the outlet. You will hear a click when you plug it back in if the reset is successful. Hopefully this should restore your video and audio.
