Hi,

You can check your manual first, it will show you the same icon that's in your phone even it has different language, you can follow the step-by-step procedure on how you can access it's settings. If you do not have the manual you can download it through the sony ericsson website.

Please don't forget to rate! Thanks!

How do I change a language?

Change language on what? Go to the menu and select English. If you can't figure out the menu because of a different language then go onto your computer or laptop and find Google Translate and type the words into there to decipher.

How to Speak Correct English

i. Observe the mouth movements of those who speak English well and try to imitate them.
When you are watching television, observe the mouth movements of the speakers. Repeat what they are saying, while imitating the intonation and rhythm of their speech.
ii. Until you learn the correct intonation and rhythm of English, slow your speech down.
If you speak too quickly, and with the wrong intonation and rhythm, native speakers will have a hard time understanding you. Don't worry about your listener getting impatient with your slow speech -- it is more important that everything you say be understood.
iii. Listen to the 'music' of English.
Do not use the 'music' of your native language when you speak English. Each language has its own way of 'singing'.
iv. Use the dictionary.

Try and familiarize yourself with the phonetic symbols of your dictionary. Look up the correct pronunciation of words that are hard for you to say.
v. Make a list of frequently used words that you find difficult to pronounce and ask someone who speaks the language well to pronounce them for you. Record these words listen to them and practice saying them. Listen and read at the same time.
vi. Buy books on tape.
Record yourself reading some sections of the book. Compare the sound of your English with that of the person reading the book on the tape.
vii. Pronounce the ending of each word.
Pay special attention to 'S' and 'ED' endings. This will help you strengthen the mouth muscles that you use when you speak English.
viii. Read aloud in English for 15-20 minutes every day.
Research has shown it takes about three months of daily practice to develop strong mouth muscles for speaking a new language.
ix. Record your own voice and listen for pronunciation mistakes.
Many people hate to hear the sound of their voice and avoid listening to themselves speak. However, this is a very important exercise because doing it will help you become conscious of the mistakes you are making.
x. Be patient.
You can change the way you speak but it won't happen overnight. People often expect instant results and give up too soon. You can change the way you sound if you are willing to put some effort into it.

Garmin edge 510 in wrong language

Generic answer: look in the manual for changing the language from English to another. If is is well-illustrated, you will be able to follow the pictures until you find the list of languages. If not, you will have to search for the language list. The next trick is identifying the word of "English" in that list. It might be Engles, Anglais, or some other variant.
The Garmin manual relies on verbal descriptions. To change the language, find "System" in the Home screen, select "Language" to bring up the list of languages. Fortunately, most European-derived languages use a similar word for "System." There are seven items in the System menu, and Language is the next-to-last item (this may help you identify the System menu if you don't find a likely candidate by inspection). If you are having a really good day, each language uses its own term for the language, and you will see the word "English" on the list. If you are having a bad day, everything is in Sanskrit or some other non-Latin character set, and you'll have to try each one until you find something more familiar.

My LG plasm's language has changed from english to

I would try to be a little sneaky if the writing is in Chinese----Yahoo has a free online service called Babel Fish---type some common words like English, Menu etc and compare them to the writing on screen when you enter the menu--looking for the language the set is set to in that language.

It will translate words from chinese to English and vice versa.

Short of getting someone who reads and speaks that language it is the only simple way I know to approach this odd issue.

Given the fact that ATM machines now offer instructions in several languages I would be glad it is not Russian.

I have a Samsung mobile GT-B3410 and the language has been accidently changed to one I dont know, which buttons do I press to get it back to English?

Hi Stephen,

I had the same problem happen to me when I was twiddling with the language buttons just 2 days ago. Today I found out was language it was in by using the google search. Typed in one of the words and just asked what language it was. It turned out to be Indonesian. I then went through another search to get a translation of a few words from Indonesian to English and from there I found out the Indonesian word for Language and looked for that on the screen and from there found the word English.

Hope this helps: -

- Press Menu (icon)
- Press Settings (blue clog wheel at bottom row)
- Press Phone Setting (phone and a clog wheel) 4 row from the top
- Press Language (first row)
- Press English - row will highlighted in blue

To save this setting I pressed either the middle button (that takes you back to the last screen)
I'm not sure but it was one of those 3 buttons.

and wella the English Language came back to me. Thanks Goodness. Good luck, and glad you shared your problem online because I only found the solution after I read about yours and while fiddling with my phone.

By mistake the language has been changed, how do I change the language of Garmin back to english?

  • On the page that shows WHERE TO and VIEW MAP press TOOLS (the spanner symbol at the bottom right corner)
  • Press SETTINGS (The spanner symbol) or LOCALE (The blue symbol) on models that don't have a settings icon
  • Press LANGUAGE (the lips symbol)
  • There are 3 items on this screen; VOICE, TEXT LANGUAGE and KEYBOARD
  • To change the voice language to English press VOICE and select an English speaking voice
  • To change the text language press TEXT LANGUAGE and select English, or American English if you're in the USA
If the text language is already in German you probably won't know which is voice, text and keyboard. The German word for German is Deutch so when you see this beside one of the items you'll know this is the one to change the text language. This should solve your problem.

Language setup

After trying on my own, I went back into setting by scrolling along until a picto gram - with what appears to be a machine bolt is highlighted and then pressed SET - next the screen shows a bunch of chinese words (these are the different languages) then I scrolled down to the last one - until its highlighted, - this is the english one - press the set button on the side of the frame, this will bring you back to the english menu.
