I just got a reconditioned Roma and it is making this thumping noise all the time when steaming the milk. Is that normal? If I turn the know a tiny bit right the sound stops but so does the steam after a while. Thanks Ulla

- I was told by Breville people that thumping noise is normal. The water from the steam wand is just the condensation from the previous use, annoying but normal.
-   Just bought a Breville Cafe Roma Model ESP8XL (improved milk frothing). I've only used it to make two cups of espresso so far but I am wondering why it makes a loud thumping sound when I am frothing the milk. Also, a fair amount of water (3-4 TBSP) comes out of the wand before the steam starts. What's wrong?-   Triplelatte
