How old is the set? It sounds like it may be a panel, Tcon or main board issue. The light you see is the backlight so we know the fluorescent tubes in the panel are getting the AC voltage. It is just not getting the video signal generated by the main board. The proper procedure is to try the main board first, if this doesn't work, then it is the panel or Tcon board. I will look up in my manual and see if the Tcon board can be ordered seperately from the panel. It might not, so in this case, the panel will need to be ordered. Only have an experienced technician install the panel if this is the route you want to proceed.

Please send me your email address. I have a manual for your tv. Check out the troubleshootin section page 15. It seems you have a noise issue on the main board. If the video is not processed correctly, it will send the main board a signal and shut down the tv.

Plasma inner screen cracked, and buzzing. Is it worth fixing the caps?

It sounds like this is an LCD tv - not a plasma.

chances are that if the screen was hit hard enough, at least one of the CCFL bulbs for the backlight broke too. This created a fault in the inverter circuit, cauing a shutdown after a second or two.

Panasonic plasma tv doesn't turn on, red light flickers twice

hi look for any swollen capacitors, also plasma's do suffer from poor solder joints on the power board, so check for any rings around the solder pads, test the voltages on the white connectors with a meter the voltages will be written along the connector, thanks

Resetting the TV
